Last weeks assassination attempt by a rabid Bernie Sanders supporter; James T. Hodgkinson that left House Majority Whip Steve Scalise in critical condition and several others also wounded was not the random act of a madman. It was a premeditated attack by someone who has internalized the ranting’s of Senator Sanders, much of the mainstream media, and many elected Democrats.
My Facebook feed has been filled with articles and comments about how the shooter was insane and he’s not responsible for his actions. I call Bull-Hockey on those claims. Hodgkinson planned it, had a target list of several other Republican Freedom Caucus members in his pocket, and he even verified the players that were practicing for an upcoming Congressional Charity Baseball game that day were actually Republicans by asking those present about it before he opened fire.
One thing for sure; if the shooter had been a Republican, with a list of Democrats in his pocket, those facts would be front page news for the next several weeks. Hodgkinson was acting on the repeated false accusations that Republicans are poisoning the planet, starving our kids and old people, and are denying healthcare to all; and he was going to do something about it. Hodgkinson was not crazy; he was a man on a mission.
From 41,000 feet in the air, it’s obvious that after the left has spent almost four decades dehumanizing Republicans — just like Hitler did before WWII to the Jews, Gays, and Gypsies in Germany — last week’s attack is those chickens coming home to roost. Just one small difference: real American’s are much more belligerent, and are well armed, unlike those who Hitler killed off. We can disagree without being disagreeable, but if the leadership of the left does not quickly start dialing this rhetoric back, this will not end well for them.
