They beat him unconscious, stripped him half-naked, curb-stomped him while he was down, dumped booze on his face, and ran over him with a car.
When you survive deployment overseas, it should mean the danger is over. It shouldn’t mean that thugs in the nation you fought to defend will beat you to within an inch of your life.
But that’s exactly what happened to this Iraq vet.
We are reaping the fruits of a generation of blame-shifting and race-baiting. E Pluribus Unum is — increasingly — a forgotten relic of history. It’s been traded for the political divide-and-conquer game of perpetual grievance.
Certain groups have profited handsomely off of splitting Americans off into aggrieved groups to be bought off with special favors. Race, Sex, income, age or whatever wedge they use to divide us, the ‘Progressive’ movement has been creating a narrative of victims and oppressors.
Should it really surprise us if a lifetime of such rhetoric should produce results like this?
It was brutal.
The three arrested have been charged with aggravated battery and mob action. They have been identified by authorities as Lamarcus Evans, Earl Agnew and Deon Sanders.
The Washington Park veteran was pumping gas at a Mobil station when he was approached and violently attacked by the group of thugs. They beat and kicked the veteran and poured alcohol on his face then ran him over with a car before leaving him to die.
“The video is rough. It’s pretty graphic. This really hit home for us because the young man is a veteran,” declared Washington Park Police Chief Tony Tomlinson.
“It’s horrible to think that you could go fight for your country, raise your right hand and take the oath and say that you will fight for your country, and you come home and after fighting the enemies, come home to a gas station and get beat up. It’s just tragic,” Tomlinson added.
Anyone who thinks that ganging up on some vet at a gas station, and beating the hell out of him is a sign of ‘manly-ness’ needs to take his head out of his ass and read this book… assuming he’s literate.
