Nancy Pelosi has recently stated that she will not resign from her role as House Minority Leader despite being pressured to do so, even going so far as to claim that she is a master legislator.
Master legislator? How is that? What has she accomplished while serving in Congress, especially when she was Speaker of the House and now House Minority Leader?
From her record, she has few (if any) achievements. Considering she comes from one of the most liberal Congressional districts in California (and in the country for that matter), all she has to do is continue to being a liberal. As a result, she has job security as a career politician.
It is highly likely she sees Obamacare as her greatest achievement, but we all know how much of a disaster it has been. Pelosi, however, continues to see Obamacare as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Her tenure in Congress has practically consisted of opposing any bill brought forth by Republicans, or policies established by any Republican President. When Pelosi ran for Congress in a 1987 special election, she described herself as a “rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth person in the Democratic Party”. She added that she never voted for a Republican in her life, and described Ronald Reagan as a man who “has no compassion” and “has no vision.” It should be noted that Pelosi’s animosity towards Reagan goes back to when he was Governor of California, and that she was opposed to his policies then.
Naturally, she opposed the policies of both Bush Administrations, particularly both Gulf Wars. And of course, she is a vivid opponent of the Trump Administration.
Pelosi also opposes welfare reform, as well as the idea of the United States’ taking on ISIS.
Not surprisingly, she has embraced the following causes: same-sex marriage, abortion, environmentalism, illegal immigration, big government, Islamism, the Palestinians, the Occupy Wall Street Movement, and basically anything liberal.
When pressed on various issues by reporters, she either lies or dismisses their questions, even refusing to answer questions at times.
Pelosi’s hypocrisy is evident, given her wealth and calls for wealth distribution. She also hires non-union workers for the vineyards she owns despite her support for labor unions. She has even relied on her political influence when it comes to using taxpayer money in order to become wealthier.
In an article I wrote in 2013, I stated that Pelosi should resign from Congress and check herself into a mental institution. I still believe she should do just that, because it would be what is best for the country and for herself.
