Orpheum Theatres Join War Against All Things Confederate — Banning This Popular Film

You thought ‘Asian Robert Lee’ getting reassigned was peak stupid?
Challenge accepted.

Were you wondering whether, possibly, there may be some sort of a rational complaint at the base of all this frenzied outrage?

Some reason we might have to take another look?

Maybe even give serious consideration to their arguments?

Wonder no longer. The answer, obviously, is ‘no’. How can we tell? Easy:

They are cancelling ‘Gone With The Wind’ showings at the Orpheum Theatre.

“Gone With the Wind” will be gone from The Orpheum’s summer movie series, the theater’s board said Friday.

The Orpheum Theatre Group decided not to include the 1939 movie about a plantation in the Civil War-era South in its 2018 Summer Movie Series after feedback from patrons following the last screening Aug. 11.

“As an organization whose stated mission is to ‘entertain, educate and enlighten the communities it serves’, the Orpheum cannot show a film that is insensitive to a large segment of its local population,” the theater’s operators said in a statement. –WREG

Oh really?

Gone With The Wind?

What’s next, book-burnings?

Will any other movies be *cough* ‘blacklisted’ *cough*? What are the rules here?

Is this one good because it has Denzel Washington? Or is it bad because it’s Civil War era?

What about Twelve Years a Slave?

Or Django Unchained?

Or The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?

Are they ‘insensitive too’?

Or have we maybe — just maybe — taken this too far?

Where are all those Leftist warnings about censorship and book-burnings when you really need them?

Oh right. Their nuts have been checked into a Politically Correct lock-box somewhere.

If they read this, maybe they could go retrieve them.
