Steve Bannon Finally Speaks – Here Are The 2 Key Things That CNN Won’t Like

President Trump’s Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon, generally stays behind the scenes but he is speaking out. Though it might not have been intentional.

Reports say that he wasn’t intentionally giving an ‘interview’ and was only calling leftist journalist Robert Kuttner of American Prospect to compliment him on a piece he wrote regarding trade with China.

But what the former Executive Chair of Breitbart had to say was stunning.

Bannon has been repeatedly called a ‘Nazi’, a ‘white supremacist’, and that he has refashioned Breitbart News to give a platform to the ‘alt-right’.

What he said — perhaps candidly — to this liberal reporter is telling, then.

He called the white supremacists ‘clowns’ and ‘losers’ and a ‘fringe element’ that needs to be crushed.

Here is what Kuttner wrote:

I asked Bannon about the connection between his program of economic nationalism and the ugly white nationalism epitomized by the racist violence in Charlottesville and Trump’s reluctance to condemn it. Bannon, after all, was the architect of the strategy of using Breitbart to heat up white nationalism and then rely on the radical right as Trump’s base.

He dismissed the far right as irrelevant and sidestepped his own role in cultivating it: “Ethno-nationalism—it’s losers. It’s a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more.”

“These guys are a collection of clowns,” he added.

Relying on the ‘radical right’?

Seriously, bro, there aren’t that many of them.

If phone booths were still a thing, these morons have their meetings in them with room to spare.

Does Kuttner really think that the people that flipped their vote from Barry to DJT are suddenly on the ‘Radical Right’?

And they suddenly became ‘white nationalists’?

The fact that Barry embraced and legitimized the Black Lives Matter movement without disavowing the violence that they perpetrated. Obama continued to talk about ‘systemic racism’ even at the memorial for the Dallas police officers that were shot and killed by a BLM supporter. Where were all the Media (D) calls to ‘disavow’ then?

Barack Obama has continually pushed anti-cop rhetoric for 8 years — claiming that ‘studies have said’ that blacks are arrested more and shot by police officers more frequently when a Harvard study shows just the opposite is the case.

It’s this kind of racebaiting is what Bannon tackles next.

“The Democrats,” he said, “the longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”

As mentioned earlier, Bannon has been accused of using Breitbart as a platform for white supremacists and the alt-right.

Even former Breitbart Editor-At-Large, Ben Shapiro says that.

But as a Jewish man who knows Steve Bannon personally — and doesn’t like him — here’s what else he says about the man:

When I left Breitbart back in March, I accused Bannon of turning Breitbart News into Trump Pravda; as I wrote, “Indeed, Breitbart News, under the chairmanship of Steve Bannon, has put a stake through the heart of Andrew’s legacy. In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda, to the extent that he abandoned and undercut his own reporter.”

Note: Ben Shapiro wasn’t a fan of President Trump at the time, but is currently supporting the President and critiquing when he feels it is necessary. Seems fair.

He answers the big question:

Is Bannon Anti-Semitic And Racist? I have no evidence that Bannon’s a racist or that he’s an anti-Semite; the Huffington Post’s blaring headline “WHITE NATIONALIST IN THE WHITE HOUSE” is overstated, at the very least. With that said, as I wrote at The Washington Post in August, Bannon has openly embraced the racist and anti-Semitic alt-right – he called his Breitbart “the platform of the alt-right.” …

…The left’s opposition to Trump, and their attempts to declare all Trump support the alt-right have obfuscated what the movement is. The movement isn’t all Trump supporters. It’s not conservatives unsatisfied with Paul Ryan, nor is it people angry at the media. Bannon knows that. He’s a smart man, not an ignorant one. The alt-right, in a nutshell, believes that Western culture is inseparable from European ethnicity. I have no evidence Bannon believes that personally. But he’s happy to pander to those people and make common cause with them in order to transform conservatism into European far-right nationalist populism. That means that the alt-right will cheer Bannon along as he marbles Trump’s speeches with talk of “globalism” – and that Bannon won’t be pushing Trump to dump the racists and anti-Semites who support Trump anytime soon.

Shapiro doesn’t think that there is enough evidence to Steve Bannon being a racist or anti-Semite. The current Editor-At-Large of Breitbart is Joel Pollack, another Jewish man. Bannon also hired former Muslim Raheem Kassam as Editor-In-Chief of Breitbart News London.

Shapiro is clear that he doesn’t like Bannon, but sees him as a Machiavellian figure that is after his own agenda — but not a racist.

“Breitbart has elective affinities with the Alt Right, and the Alt Right has clearly influenced Breitbart. In this way, Breitbart has acted as a ‘gateway’ to Alt Right ideas and writers. I don’t think it has done this deliberately; again, it’s a matter of elective affinities.” That doesn’t mean Bannon will push racist or anti-Semitic policy, or that he’ll be anti-Israel himself – unless it serves his interests.

In a nutshell, Steve Bannon may be many things, but the claim that he is a racist, white nationalist, anti-Semite doesn’t seem to have any supporting evidence.

In other words, ‘Fake News’.

There is much in this ‘interview’ that is damning to Bannon and the White House in general. So, expect the Media (D) to go nuts with it.

But Do you think CNN is going to report these little nuggets?

Unlikely.
