DEAR NFL: A Bipartisan Bid To Strip YOU Of Taxpayers MONEY For Stadiums Is Gaining Ground

Murphy’s Law just punted the NFL in the crotch… and it’s freaking Hilarious.

Supposedly Trump is ‘unifying’ the NFL against him. At least, that’s how the Media(D) has been spinning it.

‘Flyover Country’ never got that memo. Maybe because they were too busy ‘being united against the NFL’. But don’t take OUR word for it:

NFL Ticket sales have tanked.

Ratings are in free fall.

One of the highest-selling jerseys in the entire NFL on the day after he stood for the anthem, (when even his team did not) was Alejandro Villanueva.

Anyone out there getting the picture yet? Fans don’t ENJOY paying for the ‘privilege’ of being disrespected… and the product you are selling is entertainment.

So, by taking the coward’s way out — backing this dopey protest on COMPANY time — the NFL has insulted a big chunk of America.

The NFL should have thought about ‘unintended consequences’.

There is, after all, pending legislation that could HAMMER your bottom line.

Stadium funding.

You chose the wrong time to pick a fight with the fans.

In today’s highly fractured world, it’s not often that lawmakers from the two parties agree on anything — which makes it all the more amazing that a Republican and a Democrat are working together to smack down the National Football League.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) have co-sponsored a bill that would strip any taxpayer funding for professional sports teams for building their massive arenas. The proposal, first put forward in June, is gaining steam on Capitol Hill after NFL players began kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality (or something). —DailyWire

But… but… the ‘good of the community’!

The two senators said that since 2000, 36 professional sports stadiums have been constructed or revamped under financing provided by federal tax-exempt municipal bonds, costing taxpayers over $3.2 billion. While sports team argue that stadium construction is for the good of the community, the senators say “there is no statistically significant positive correlation between sports facility construction and economic development.”

The true cost is more like $7 billion, reported Watchdog.org. “Overall, taxpayers have spent nearly $3 billion on the 16 stadiums that will host NFL games during the season’s opening weekend. And over the past couple of decades, we’ve given NFL teams nearly $7 billion total in aid for their stadiums.” —DailyWire

They have contempt for America’s institutions, do they?

Fine then. Have your contempt.

But don’t come looking for the taxpayer to fund your major building projects.

If many of us don’t even want to watch your games anymore, what makes you think we want to INVEST in you?

You don’t like us? Good. Then maybe it’s time you grow up and pay your own way in the world.
