Dear Ungrateful NFL Clowns: Watch What A PARALYZED Veteran Did During Our National Anthem
Maybe the NFL stars can look THIS guy in the eye and explain how ‘oppressed’ they are under Old Glory.
The really insulting part is that they have INTENTIONALLY leveraged that patriotic moment at the beginning of the game that is supposed to remind the whole nation about what UNITES us… and you have chosen THAT moment for their protest.
A protest which as we’ve said before, is in a franchise uniform, is on company time, is rolling the dice with ratings that will hurt, not their own reputation and ticket sales but that of their franchise.
Protest all you want on your OWN platform and your OWN time.
But why shouldn’t the protest be during the anthem? We could explain it. (Again.)
Or we could just let this guy’s own words speak for themselves.
We talk so much about ‘fighting Nazis’ — have we forgotten that this is the very flag under which we – as a nation – ACTUALLY fought Nazis?
And this paralyzed guy stands as a reminder of both the price that is paid and the respect that is owed that flag, and the countless people who died fighting under it. Not ‘white’ people, or ‘black’ people. — AMERICAN people. E Pluribus Unum. And that’s the freaking point.

The NBA is making everything political.

Want to send them a REAL message? Do you know what’s more effective than a boycott? A Buycott. When you throw your support behind a rival product that DOESN’T crap all over everything you stand for.
Like when half the country lined up to buy Chick Fil A a couple of years ago. People noticed. Look at the respect THIS championship team sport still has for America (and the fans)!

It’s not ABOUT ‘sending a political message’.
The Pittsburgh Penguins respect the institution of the Office of the President, and the long tradition of championship teams visiting the White House. We attended White House ceremonies after previous championships – touring the historic building and visiting briefly with Presidents George H.W. Bush and Barack Obama – and have accepted an invitation to attend again this year.
Any agreement or disagreement with a president’s politics, policies or agenda can be expressed in other ways. However, we very much respect the rights of other individuals and groups to express themselves as they see fit.
How sad is it when a league composed of players, not just from America, but from Canada and Europe have a better sense of honor for the instututions and traditions that make this country GREAT than the home-grown athletes of rival leagues.
Maybe if NFL and NBA watch all their viewers tuning in hockey instead, it will actually drive the message home.
Hell, Even CANADIAN hockey fans respect the American anthem more than these clods.
