Comey leaked classified information explicitly to trigger the Mueller investigation. Now he ‘doesn’t care’ about the findings.
So much for that ‘Higher Loyalty’ he claims to have.
Then again, for all his bluster, the truth was his first casualty, and that happened a long time before Trump took office.
Here’s a clip from an article the Guardian wrote about his book launch in April of last year:
Comey portrays Trump as a cataclysmic threat to the nation. As for Trump’s expectation of personal loyalty, he puts Trump on par with a mafia don, writing that Trump’s demand was like a “Cosa Nostra induction ceremony – with Trump in the role of the family boss, asking me if I have what it takes to be a ‘made man’.”
…On 9 May 2017, Trump fired Comey. He also unleashed a whirlwind from which he has not recovered. Almost a year later, the Republicans appear on the precipice of losing control of the House of Representatives, and even the Senate may change hands. A poll released on Friday shows that a majority of Americans, a robust 69% at that, support the Mueller investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign, an effort first spearheaded by Comey.
Comey may have left the building, but his ghost and Trump’s nightmares remain.

As the former top dog in the FBI, you’d think little things like evidence and findings would be of some relevance to him.
Nah. Not for a swamp rat like Comey. He knows where his bread is buttered — and the check for his book has already cleared.
The real goal was never ‘finding information’ it was creating a cloud of suspicion. And through Mueller, he has achieved that objective.
Now he has to fake being ‘dispassionate’ about the results.
Pretty rich from a guy who compared Trump to a ‘mafia don’ and a ‘cataclysmic threat’ to the nation.
“I have no idea whether the special counsel will conclude that Mr. Trump knowingly conspired with the Russians in connection with the 2016 election or that he obstructed justice with the required corrupt intent,” Comey wrote. “I also don’t care. I care only that the work be done, well and completely.”
Comey also wrote that his “one hope” was that Trump not be impeached before the end of his term, instead encouraging critics of the president to focus on electing another candidate in 2020.
“I don’t mean that Congress shouldn’t move ahead with the process of impeachment governed by our Constitution, if Congress thinks the provable facts are there. I just hope it doesn’t,” he said. “Because if Mr. Trump were removed from office by Congress, a significant portion of this country would see this as a coup, and it would drive those people farther from the common center of American life, more deeply fracturing our country.”

Why wouldn’t he want us thinking it was a coup? If he answered honestly, it’s because that presents a real problem for him:
He called the President ‘morally unfit’ and describes his supporters (even now) as ‘enablers’. That’s fine for Joe Citizen to say, but when someone with the Security clearances and access to private information he has makes a claim like that, you’d better be able to back it up. But now he pretends to be a ‘neutral observer’ in the Mueller process, and not political bomb-thrower.
“Even though I believe Mr. Trump is morally unfit to be president of the United States, I’m not rooting for Mr. Mueller to demonstrate that he is a criminal,” Comey wrote in his op-ed.
“I’m also not rooting for Mr. Mueller to ‘clear’ the president. I’m not rooting for anything at all, except that the special counsel be permitted to finish his work, charge whatever cases warrant charging and report on his work.”
