MORE MAYHEM IN MISSOURI: MO National Guard Called In After Rioters Toss More Molotov Cocktail At Police

The riots and Molotov cocktails continue in the Ferguson riots. The National Guard was reportedly called in after another clash between protesters and police. See below…

The National Guard was ordered into Ferguson on Sunday after it was convulsed by yet another night of clashes between police and protesters angry at the shooting of an unarmed black teenager.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon said paramilitary units would help ‘in restoring peace and order’ to Ferguson, where protests continued over the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown by a white police officer.

Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets on Sunday night in response to gunfire, looting, vandalism and protesters who hurled Molotov cocktails.

‘These violent acts are a disservice to the family of Michael Brown and his memory and to the people of this community,’ Governor Nixon said in a statement.

The National Guard is a reserve military force, and its deployment marks a serious escalation of the crackdown on dissent in Ferguson, a mainly black suburb of St Louis.

Last night brought another night of protests and violence in Ferguson, as tensions remained high over Brown’s killing.

The violence began to flare again around 9pm local time – three hours before the beginning of the midnight curfew – as police in riot gear fired tear gas on hundreds of protestors – including children – for encroaching on their command post.
