How Does the Media Get it So Wrong So Often?

So, I am inventing a new phrase for the media. Does everyone remember when it was fun to Google yourself and see what crazy stuff popped up?

Well from now on it is no longer going to be called “Googling”. It will now be known as “Brian Rossing” yourself.

For instance, I Brian Rossed myself for this article and this is what I found. The first two entries are: Mark Mayberry the motivational speaker and Mark Mayberry the pastor.

Now as much as I would love to take credit for being such a multidimensional person, I sadly am just a lowly writer. The odd thing is there is actually more than one Mark Mayberry in the United States.

Apparently this caught Brian Ross off guard too when he assumed that there was only one James Holmes in Colorado.

I find it amazingly offensive that we are always subjected to these kinds of disgusting attacks on the Tea Party and various other conservative groups and personalities every time something like this happens.

As American’s we need to learn that a political party cannot brand these types of evil. Instead of attempting to tie these sick individuals to the Republican Party and its groups why isn’t ABC trying to help people understand what they are seeing? What is the difference if he is Black, White or Asian? Does it matter whom he voted for? The answer is absolutely not.

There are rumors floating around that James Homes may in fact be a member of the ultra left wing and violent sect of the Occupy Wall Street movement known as Black Bloc. This can’t be substantiated as of right now but I am sure we will know one way or the other.

The only reason I mention this is to show how wrong ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and Brian Ross got it. Not to mention the hell that they put the other James Homes through today.

This type of predatory journalism needs to stop. Every time there is a scene of mass violence some reporter is trying to tie the individual to the Tea Party or blame prominent conservative figures. Remember Keith Olbermann’s outburst about Gabby Giffords? Today is no different. Rush Limbaugh has already been blamed for inciting James Holmes because of asking about the social justice aspect of the movie.

Questions for the media

So I will ask two questions? The first: how do the media get it so wrong so often? The second: when is ABC going to fire George or Brian for this blatant slander attempt?
