The Philosophy of Suckers, Part Two
Last week, we explored the premise that modern liberalism is equivalent to vampirism for the simple fact that it must steal or convert its adherents, given that traditional methods of reproduction are discouraged. Just as vampires must prey on unsuspecting victims in order to produce more vampires, the Left seeks to bolster its ranks by preying on those members of society most ripe for the picking.
To review, the bottom feeders of the Leftist Succubae are the theologians. Next up the ladder is the General Public, who serve as the foot soldiers of this undead host. They don’t have much ideological heft, but they accomplish a lot of the heavy lifting by parroting the maxims of their vampiric masters and serve as bait to lure more unsuspecting meatbags into the intellectually-abandoned house at the end of the block for their handlers to chow on.
At this point, I’m going to edit Schaeffer’s illustration a bit. He split Music and Art into two steps and I find them nearly indistinguishable in our day. So let’s call the 3rd Rung of Despair “Media” which includes music, art, and media sources, since our media could easily be mistaken for the entertainment industry rather than actual journalism.
Just above the General Public then is the Media. Consequently, this group seems to have the most influence over the General Public. Musicians and actors are seen as demi-gods and our worship of all things celebrity makes it simple for these parasitic sergeants to have their pick of the flock.
As the General Public is content to allow someone else do their thinking for them, everyone from Sean Penn to Carlos Santana to Roseanne Barr to Dan Rather is only too happy to oblige. Cradle-to-grave, we are constantly bombarded by liberal ideology via media outlets and we too often conflate celebrity with moral and intellectual authority. We know how Lady Gaga feels about an issue, but have no idea what the finest minds in our society have to say about it.
Who holds more intellectual sway over the General Public: Gaga or Thomas Sowell? Bono or Dennis Praeger? Jane Fonda or Francis Schaeffer? Joan Baez or Ayn Rand? When celebrity bestows instant credibility, and lack of inhibition facilitates celebrity, is it any surprise that more people are familiar with guys who ram shopping carts into their junks on “Jackass” than Alexander Solzhenitsyn or Frederic Bastiat?
These celebrity mouthpieces get their orders from on high and they’ve accomplished their tasks marvelously. Whether it’s Brangelina refusing to get married until gay marriage is legal or Kanye West stepping out of his limo to stand in solidarity with Occupiers, there is no question that the musicians, artists, and media have helped to attract and turn thousands of vapid citizens to their cause.
The next-to-last step belongs to the Educators. This is where the real work is done. As the Lieutenants of the Left’s vampiric host, educators are the progenitors of much of the subversion and perversion of our young minds. Perhaps this wasn’t as obvious in earlier times, but with each generation, the power of the Teachers Unions and their progressive, diabolical agenda is further embedded into the system, rendering it lousy with blood-suckers.
This is not to say that all educators are clones of Nosferatu. The fact is that there are teachers who are just as horrified as the rest of us about the blatant subversion of children in their schools. I have no doubt that they put themselves at risk to shield the children in their care from the worst of the indoctrination, but they are few and far between, and have been rendered largely impotent by the sheer breadth of the onslaught of Leftist programming being force-fed our children.
As standardized test scores fall further and further behind the rest of the world, the amount of pro-gay, pro-gaia, pro-government-dependency, anti-God, anti-family, anti-American material grows proportionally. This is no coincidence. The more incompetent these children turn out, the more they will need to depend on the government. Able, competent, self-sufficient children are a threat to the unholy grail of complete and utter government dependence (aka a lifetime of Democratic voting). Think of it as the educational Fox and Piven technique; overwhelm the system from within..
At long last, we’ve arrived at the door to Dracula’s crypt. Kicking down the door, torches and stakes in hand, we’re confronted with the unholy godhead of the Left’s vampiric army: Saul Alinski, John Dewey, and Margaret Sanger. These three have provided the intellectual foundation for the entire horde. They are the generals of this profane host. Armed with Alinski’s pragmatism, Dewey’s plan to undermine the family structure, and Sanger’s justification for eugenics and infanticide, thousands of true-believers have slunk into the dark places of this country and built their dens of manipulation and coercion.
These three minds together were woven into a diabolical plan to undermine traditional American values and short-circuit the moral underpinnings of this country. The work would begin by breaking apart the granular unit of our society: the family. This began by first increasing the jurisdiction and necessity of the public educators, thereby undermining parental rights and authority.
Next, they targeted the concept of family itself, breaking it down before rebuilding it in their own perverted fashion. Layered on top of this Frankenstein is the elevation of personal convenience over familial responsibility, by the procurement of abortion on-demand. If personal convenience comes before carrying a child to term, then what can’t personal convenience trump? And families aren’t typically formed by people who value their personal convenience over the well-being of another. So for those who hadn’t already formed a family, Sanger provided a way to head them off at the pass. This entire game plan was sanctioned by the pragmatism of Alinski, which taught that any and all methods should be encouraged in the struggle of the Have-Nots against the Haves.
And this is what we face. This is what opposes us in our struggle to retake our country in the name of liberty, prosperity, and the God who blesses us with all this and more. It’s not so scary once confronted, but they are hell-bent on completing their transformation of our country. We cannot flinch and we cannot shirk our duty. We will not go quietly into that dark night. We know what lurks there..
