Why S.E. Cupp Should Be Challenged!

“Democracy is a streetcar. We will ride on it until we reach our destination, then get off!” – Recep Erdoğan

It all started with a stupid statement by a brilliant woman – S.E. Cupp, “I have a message for my conservative colleagues who seem to be engaging in this circular firing squad: Calm down. Let’s chill out a little bit,” she said. “This is not the end of the party as we know it. We will not be shutting down the party if Romney does not win.”  She’s referring to Laura Ingraham and Rush Limbaugh, of course, who have both suggested in the last week or so, that if Romney fails, the Republicans are toast.

“If you can’t beat Barack Obama with this record, then shut down the party. Shut it down, start new, with new people. Because this is a ‘gimme’ election, or at least it should be,” said Ingraham on her radio show. “Election after election, we hire people who have lost previous campaigns, who have run campaigns that have failed, who have messaged campaigns where the message fell flat, and they keep getting re-hired.”

While Ingraham seemed despondent over a “2nd verse same as the first” rerun of the Steve Schmidt failed McCain campaign, Limbaugh warned that the establishment would place the blame on conservatives in light of a loss. “If Obama wins, let me tell you what it’s the end of: The Republican Party. There’s going to be a third party that’s going to be oriented toward conservatism. I know Rand Paul thinks libertarianism. And I know if Obama wins, the Republican Party is going to try to maneuver things so conservatives get blamed.”

First of all, I must tell you that I’m a fan of Sarah Elizabeth Cupp.  With the death of Christopher Hitchens, she has moved up on my list of favorite atheists and now ranks just below Penn Jillette and Ricky Gervais.  However, I do feel that she has made some rash moves of late.  The good Reverend King once said, “It is the better part of wisdom not to do desperate things” – anything that has to do with MSNBC and one’s career, qualifies.  She joined a panel of pundits on a show called THE CYCLE and as one wag stated, “Do you really want to have anything to do with a show called THE CYCLE that airs on a station frequently referred to as PMSNBC?”

Fox News made the biggest mistake since the Red Sox traded Babe Ruth when it ditched Glenn Beck.  To fill his once golden time slot, they put together a show called THE FIVE, which features five people who can’t carry Glenn’s attaché case, let alone fill the gaping void left by his chalkboard.  It does have some gut-wrenching humor and the notorious Fox eye-candy (a blonde and a brunette … with legs).  Add a splash of drooling Bob Beckel and the one bright spot of the show, Eric Bolling, and you have a recipe for a bland filler to choose, in case you’re trapped in a hospital waiting room.   One thing is for sure — no one is going to schedule their day around this show or even DVR it, like they did for GLENN BECK.

If GLENN BECK was Curly then THE FIVE is definitely the Shemp of the 5 pm Fox time slot.  As lame as that is, it is freaking Shakespeare compared to THE CYCLE. While THE FIVE has the demented liberal Beckel on an Island (and I must say, he frequently holds his own), THE CYCLE has Cupp as the token counterpart of the main voice of the show – “whack-job” liberal, progressive agitprop.  One liberal hack to one conservative and three moderates may pass as “fair and balanced” on FOX, but one conservative constantly harped on by three wild-eyed, liberal lackeys is hardly the recipe for success on MSNBC.

The only competition THE CYCLE has offered THE FIVE is in a race for most apologies, Touré vs. Beckel.  No kidding, there’s this character named Touré, which is shorthand for his full name Tourétte, who is frequently found conveying hoof-and-mouth disease, only to submit a half-hearted apology a day later.

So, I guess congratulations are in order for S.E. because this is the first time that she’s made any headlines from Shemp-land.  Unfortunately, Tourétte has rubbed off on her.

If I could type in Crayon here I would, so read this real slowly and let it marinate:

If Mitt Romney loses, whether the Republican Party lives or dies will not matter because it will be overshadowed by the death of the Republic.  If Mitt Romney loses, America loses, the Constitution loses, and all that we have held and do hold sacred will be lost because in the most important election of our lifetime, tyranny will have won.   To even have the conversation that Ms. Cupp is having is to fail to appreciate the gravity of this election.

The current Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Erdoğan, once proudly proclaimed: “Democracy is a streetcar. We will ride on it until we reach our destination, then get off!” I got news for you Sarah Elizabeth: the Streetcar that Barrack is riding isn’t named Desire. If Mitt Romney loses this election, Barack Obama will have used Democracy to destroy the Republic and S.E. Cupp will still be nullified by three lapdogs on a stupid little show that no one watches. But I fear Glenn Beck will be gone.  Do you really think that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck would survive a second term of Barrack Obama on his current trajectory, having won re-election and proclaimed a mandate?

In the bold, brash manner that Barack Obama has misbehaved in the past four years, can you even begin to imagine how bold and how brash he would be without having to worry about another campaign or fund-raising?  For all the abuses that he has perpetrated so far, most of them coming without even a whimper from the Republican Party, can you imagine the lengths that he would go with another four years?  The Czars, the executive orders, ignoring laws that have been passed and passing laws via fiat; would there be another election that we could even recognize as fair?  Would not amnesty be a bygone conclusion and the Democrat Party a permanent election result?
