Armed Guards Good for David Gregory’s Kids’ School but Not For Your Kids

Screen Shot 2012-12-26 at 8.58.55 AMAfter the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre spoke on Friday calling for armed guards and trained teachers in every school — and offering the NRA’s services to make it happen — NBC’s David Gregory went apoplectic.

On Meet The Press on Dec. 23, he mocked the assertion that armed guards should be placed in schools. He did this by accusing LaPierre of turning a blind eye to Gregory’s belief that guns are part of the problem rather than the solution.

Gregory’s kids, however, go to school at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., a school that is not only looking to hire a new police officer, but which also has 11 security personnel already on staff, some of whom are police officers.

Yet even though Gregory sends his kids to a school were they benefit from armed guards, here’s what he said to Wayne LaPierre:

But you would conceded that as good of an idea as you think [armed guards at schools] is, it may not work. Because there have been cases where armed guards have not prevented this kind of massacre, this kind of carnage. I want you would concede that point, wouldn’t you?
