Atheist Group Formed At TX Christian University
Texas Christian University in Fort Worth has recently received an application from the “Freethinking Frogs,” an agnostic and secular student group, to receive full recognition on campus. The name of the group is a pun from the school’s mascot, the Horned Frog, and was started by transfer student Alexis Lohse (32). The University has 20 groups on campus which include Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, and Muslim groups. The group’s Facebook mission statement is pretty loaded: “We envision a future in which nontheistic students are respected voices in public discourse and vital partners in the secular movement’s charge against irrationality and dogma.”
What do you think? Should this atheist group receive official recognition on a Christian campus?
