Two Pastors Shot In Kenyan Church: One Killed

Written by Andres Ortiz on February 8, 2013

Two Pastors ShotGarissa, Kenya, Pastors Ibrahim Makunyi and Abdi Welli of the East Africa Pentecostal Church were shot by unknown gunmen yesterday. Makunyi survived the gunshot but his disciple, Welli, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. He left behind a wife and three young boys. According to Open Doors ministries, a watchdog for Christian persecution across the world, Garissa has been of great interest to Islamist terrorist group Al-Shabaab because of its Christian influence.

Additionally, Kenya’s political instability and Islamic infection has been of great concern and trouble to the Christians there. But this sparks an even greater question: what should we, as Christians, do in light of this horrible event? Should we exercise our second amendment right or give up the ghost like Stephen in Acts chapter 7?
