Americans with A.D.D. (Ammunition Deficit Disorder)

349px-Colt_Model_1883_ShotgunWhile reports are coming out about Vice President, “Goof Ball” Biden spending an average of half a million per night in France and London, President Obama is in the Middle East spreading propaganda through his rhetorical Saul Alinsky like speeches to the Israeli population.  Meanwhile back in D.C., Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan, is bringing forth a question to the Department of Homeland Security that we have all been asking.  Why is DHS purchasing 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition?

I have a few theories but before we take a look at them, let’s see what the DHS has to say.  According to Elizabeth Flock’s interview at Washington Whispers, she was told, “it regularly fills all of its goods and services requirements at one time because it’s cheaper for the agency, and that the 1.6 billion number was misleading because the language of DHS’s purchase said it would need “up to” a certain amount. The DHS also stated that 750 million rounds would be used for training centers and law enforcement personnel.

From my understanding, the DHS has purchased hollow point ammo.  Who goes to the practice range and shoots hollow points when the same undertaking could be accomplished with standard ammo that costs much less?  If all these rounds have been purchased for Law Enforcement, why have state and local law enforcement been bartering amongst their colleagues for ammunition?  If you believe anything this Obama administration feeds you, you are in for one big surprise!

The DHS has purchased enough ammunition to shoot every citizen in the United States over six times each.  When that is coupled with the 65,376,373 new gun sales during Obama’s first term, we are looking at not only record gun sales but also record ammunition sales which in return have created an ammunition deficit.

The first thought that comes to mind when the DHS purchased over a billion rounds of ammo was they are making an attempt, in a round-a-bout way, to thwart gun sales.  The anti-Second Amendment liberals were unable to pass a bill restricting the sales of guns that looked mean and deadly.  Possibly in an effort to minimize expanding gun purchases, DHS placed a demand on ammunitions manufacturing facilities to fulfill contractual obligations.  With this burdensome demand that we are all feeling, it is kinda like buying a car and only having a gallon of gas to get it home.  Would you make an acquisition for a firearm without having ammo on the shelf for the said gun?

The worst case scenarios for the purchase of all this ammunition would be the government preparing for an economic collapse.  With hyper-inflation taking place and devalued currency we would have civil unrest across the nation.  Perhaps, that would fit right into Obama’s bizarre way of thinking, allowing him to create a civil war between those who will uphold our Constitution and those who will become obedient to Marxist ways.

In the Midwest, many caliber sized ammunitions cannot be found while others have a box limit on them.  The shortage has not only altered citizen’s firearm use at the range but it has also strained our military’s training programs.  According to some industry analysts, the market should recover in a six to nine month period.  Until then, I for one am being conservative until I can rebuild my ammo inventory.
