Set Your DVR: ‘The Bible’ Premieres This Sunday On The History Channel

If you haven’t heard already then you probably live under a rock, but the History Channel has been fervently promoting a 10-week long series covering the bible from cover to cover. That won’t cover all of the events of the bible, but judging from the extended look we will see some of the most famous and not-so famous biblical stories. These stories include Noah’s Ark, Moses’s Exodus, David’s life, the image of gold and the fiery furnace (Daniel 3), Rahab, Samson, as well as the life, miracles, death, and resurrection of the Christ.

But hold back your vomit, brethren, for I know plenty of Christian movies have been cheesier than your favorite mexican taco. This one is going to be a hit. After all, Hans Zimmer will be doing the music. If you are not familiar with that name then you are surely familiar with movies like the Lion King, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Hannibal, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Yes sir, he is on board. Famous musician CeeLo Green also made his rendition of “Mary Did You Know” for the series. The series is already receiving good reviews and if the trailer didn’t get you pumped, then check your pulse because you might be dead.

Set your DVR, gather your people, fire up the popcorn and get ready for this ten week series. Even if you are not a fan of television, show your support for Christian art and tell the world that this is the kind of entertainment we want to see. Not Jersey Shore, not Here Comes Honey Doo-Doo Child, and certainly not The New Normal. We want more Duck Dynasty, we want more series of the bible, and we want it now!
