On last Sunday’s edition of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Barack Obama’s puppet master, the sleazy Chicago operative David Axelrod said something that was unintentionally revealing, extremely so, in fact. The subject was the latest compilation of inside-the-beltway gossip written by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, Double Down. In the book, the authors claim that in 2012, the Obama campaign contemplated replacing Joe “Three-Letter Word JOBS” Biden with Hillary Rodham Clinton. I think that these discussions allegedly occurred before the still somewhat mysterious murder of four brave Americans in Benghazi, Libya, but at this point, what difference does it make? The point is that Mr. Axelrod denied that any of these discussions were serious, noting that they did only one poll to test whether making Mrs. Clinton Barry’s running mate would enhance their fortunes. When pressed on why they would even run one poll if their was no serious consideration of the idea, Axelrod replied “we tested everything.”
If you’re one of those people who, even today, express confusion and astonishment over Barack Obama’s repeated, pre-meditated repetition of a series of lies in his three-year plus campaign to con a trusting public into going along with his heinous health care scheme, Mr. Axelrod answered all your questions. “Why would he try to rewrite history? Didn’t they realized we have this thing called video tape? Why didn’t his advisors tell him to qualify the claim that ‘if you like your plan, you can keep your plan’?”
Of course they realized all of these things, but they also realized that the 85% of people who got their health insurance through their employers and who were not subject to denials of insurance due to pre-existing conditions would not want to lose their coverage. We now know that the Obama administration knew in 2010 that millions would lose their coverage. We know that policy analysts in the Obama White House suggested that Barack Obama not state categorically that people could keep their insurance plans (“Period. End of Story”), and were overruled by the political apparatchiks, who realized the implications. Telling the truth about the impact of Obamacare would have doomed the plan, so like all con artists, they lied. For the Left, the ends always justify the means. So, Barack Obama also doubles down, continuing to lie, and to lie about lying. What are a few lies in the service of socialism?
That’s especially true, Bitter Clinger, when you stop whining about being lied to, take a breath and realize that it was all for your own good. As explained in the Wall Street Journal story published over the weekend, they knew they were lying, and they did so deliberately for political reasons. They had to because you’re too stupid to appreciate the “nuance” involved if he had told the truth.
Officials worried, though, that delving into details such as the small number of people who might lose insurance could be confusing and would clutter the president’s message.
You see? You would have been confused, and you might have asked a lot of irritating questions rather than simply recognizing that your role is to shut up, submit and pay for something “better.”
As the slow motion train wreck that is Obamacare continues to roll down the tracks, it’s clear that what was considered satire in the 1970‘s is now reality. Obama mouthpieces endlessly bleat and tweet that it’s the insurance companies who are canceling policies, not Obamacare, leaving out the fact that the current policies are illegal under Obamacare. Catch 22 is no longer just a humorous novel. It’s what we’re living.
Like you, I take no pleasure in watching people confront the painful realization of what Obama meant five days before he was elected, when he promised to “transform” the United States. We knew precisely what he meant, and we tried to warn our fellow citizens that he was indeed a “historic” and “transformative” figure, the combination of two of the worst aspects of 20th-century American politics; that is, the radical, anti-American leftism of his mentors, Frank Marshall Davis, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and the “Marxist professors” that he proudly told Ayers to write about in Dreams From My Father, and brass-knuckle, my-way-or-the-highway, rule of law be damned, Chicago way politics. We predicted everything that is happening now as this slow motion train wreck rolls down the tracks. It wasn’t hard to do. Let me say it again. The Left lies.
