Can You Fool All of the People All of the Time? Democrats Rely on It
How effective is the Democrat spin machine? You be the judge.
On May 5, 2014 USA Today posted a story that sent shockwaves through the Democrat party: “A nationwide USA TODAY/Pew Research Center Poll shows…(b)y more than 2-1, 65%-30%, Americans say they want the president elected in 2016 to pursue different policies and programs than the Obama administration, rather than similar ones.” Those polled included Democrats, Republicans and Independents, the largest segment polled.
On 5/22 ABC News ran a different story: “Who cares which party controls Congress? Only about half of Americans…The other 46 percent, not so much, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll.” Suddenly people no longer care who’s in charge? ABC News, a Democrat supporter, also asserted that a 54% anti-Democrat majority suddenly equates to “half.” 54% is considered a landslide when it is a pro-Democrat statistic. POTUS only received 51% of the vote in both 2008 and 2012.
Now take the VA scandal. The president was, predictably, “furious.” Far from causing horselaughs to reverberate from coast to coast, polling showed that he is still ducking blame. From The Hill on 5/22: “The public blames Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki more than President Obama for mismanagement at veterans hospitals across the country, according to a new CBS News poll released Thursday.” “The public respondents” were veterans. No mention of how many Democrats, versus Republicans, were polled: “Of the veterans surveyed, 36 percent accused the retired four-star general of mismanagement, while 29 percent blamed local VA hospitals, and 18 percent held the commander-in-chief responsible.”
The Lyin’ King eludes every taint to his administration. Is one really supposed to believe that he is, for the umpteenth time during his tenure, furious and outraged at something he professed to know nothing about? That he cares deeply about our veterans?
The evidence contradicts him. Wasn’t it the president that suggested, in 2009, that veterans pay for their own medical care? How did veterans forget that little tidbit? Hot Air had the story:
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance…The same administration that wants to give tens of billions of dollars to…a host of other banks and manufacturers wants men and women injured in service to their country to pay for the medical care that arises from these injuries? (Bush) increased the VA budget by 56%…Bush never offered the notion that the nation should shirk its duty to those who gave their health for the defense of America…In fact, I don’t think any administration has ever signaled such a policy, mostly because previous administrations weren’t dumb enough to try it, let alone crass enough to consider it an area to save a little cash.
But that was then and this is now; Nancy Pelosi, poster child for dumb and crass, immediately began building the Democrat bunker.
The Washington Examiner posted Pelosi’s “blame Bush” strategy: “…And so, we go in a war in Afghanistan, leave Afghanistan for Iraq with unfinished business in Afghanistan. Ten years later, we have all of these additional veterans. In the past five years, two million more veterans needing benefits from the VA. That’s a huge, huge increase.”
A huge, huge increase?. Perhaps someone should tell Pelosi that 16,112,566 individuals were members of the United States armed forces during World War II. 9,087,000 served during Viet Nam.
The Veterans Administration was established in 1930; Congress authorized the President to consolidate and coordinate Government activities affecting war veterans. With all of the waste and economic ruin wreaked upon the country during the last six years are we supposed to believe that 2 million veterans are breaking the bank?
No one at the Veterans Administration or any other federal department establishes procedure without presidential approval. He establishes policy. There are no rogue departments, much as the Democrat spin machine tries to make that so. In the six years of his presidency POTUS has engineered everything. He has gotten away with crocodile-tear “outrage” at scandals that his command is responsible for. He has yet to admit to a single policy failure of his own regime. All culpability is deflected and accrues elsewhere. Like Sgt. Schultz he, without fail, “knows nothing”…once he’s been found out. Wherever the buck stops it isn’t anywhere near him.
The Democrat party has a history of lies and broken promises that would shame Beelzebub. Despite this, evidence indicates that Dems have successfully absconded with public opinion and are busily rewriting history every day.
If the flood waters of fascism are to recede back to where only some of the people can be fooled some of the time, those that have been silent up to now must speak up.
