SAN ANTONIO — Five people are on the run and 11 people are in custody after a high-speed chase, that stretched over 100 miles, ended in San Antonio early Friday morning. Once stopped, officers found a underage girl behind the wheel.

It all started overnight in Encinal, Texas, just north of Laredo, which is one of the Texas cities that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border.

Authorities said the pursuit began after U.S. Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a pickup truck that was believed to be carrying undocumented immigrants. Instead, the driver sped up to about 95 mph and led agents through several counties, all the way to the Alamo City.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, deputies who were assisting with the chase managed to box in the Ford F-150 on Interstate 35 and bring the truck to a stop just in front of Splashtown.
