SMART CELEBRITIES? Not Automatically. As You’ll See
Recently a dialogue took place between Bill O’Reilly of Fox News and Whoopi Goldberg, from The View. During the interview Ms Goldberg, whose real name is Caryn Elaine Johnson and who took her first name from the famous whoopee cushion, and took the name Goldberg because it might sound better in Hollywood, is about as full of something-or-other as that famous cushion.
She, and many, many, other celebrities would do better to keep their political thoughts, or ANY thoughts, to themselves, lest they be shown to be idiots…as she is. These are excerpts from that interview and so you know who is who, O’Reilly will be “O” and Goldberg will be “G”.
O: Do you believe in the world, we have a Muslim problem?
G: No.
G: Bill, do you think that the people in Pakistan, the people who live in Pakistan, the poor people, the people who don’t have any say, you think they don’t want help to help the West?
O: A lot of them don’t. The madrassa — do you know what a madrassa is?
G: No, I don’t.
O: OK. madrassa is a school that teaches Islamic jihad and there are madrassas all over the Muslim world. They teach 4 and 5-year-old kids to hate people.
G: Bill, that may be true…
O: It is true.
G: It may be true. I can’t prove it.
O: I can.
G: You’ve clearly been to them and I will take your word for it. But that does not change the fact that when you paint all Muslims with one brush, it’s bad.
O: I’m not painting all Muslims with one brush.
G: But when you say Muslims killed us, when you don’t specify. It’s like saying whenever I see black men coming down the street, I’m scared. That’s the same…
O: Do you have a problem in history when you were taught about World War II that Japanese attacked us? Do you have a problem with that?
G: I have a problem with that.
O: Do you?
G: Yes.
O: But they attacked us?
G: Sorry, the air force did. (Actually it was the Navy)
O: You understand my point? The Japanese air force attacked us on December 7, 1941, NOT the Japanese? (Her position on this is that it wasn’t the entire Japanese people)
O: We have a Muslim problem in the world in the sense that 90 percent of the terrorism. Come from that area.
G: You know what? What do you mean 90 percent of the terrorists…are from everywhere. They are white.
O: No, predominantly they are Muslims. Right now, everybody can say the Muslims are the terrorists. Two years ago, it was the white people that were the terrorists.
O: What white people?
G: Oh, wasn’t it white people that blew up Oklahoma City?
O: Yes, two of them. Two of them.
G: We disagree on this.
O: But I just want to be clear.
G: And it’s OK.
O: We have to have these discussions.
O’REILLY: Right. But I just want to be clear and I’ll give you the last word on this and then we’ll get to your book.
G: OK. (I believe this is the real reason she was on his show, to plug the book.)
O: I believe there is a Muslim problem in the world.
G: OK.
O: And that’s what I was trying to get across to you guys on The View.
G: Right.
O: That 70 percent of Americans believe the way I do. They thought it was inappropriate to make a Muslim community center that close to Ground Zero. That was my point.
G: I understood your point. What did I not understand and I will just reiterate it again because…
O: I just left out the word terrorist.
G: Yes. Because in this day and age when kids are getting their butts kicked because they are Muslim, OK? (Of course this is totally wrong.)
O: Not so much.
G: Bill, are you kidding me?
O: New study today, Jews in America are far more likely to be persecuted than Muslims, just came out today.
G: You know what? I’m sure that someone believes that, but I believe that in neighborhoods where they don’t want Muslims, they beat up kids. (Ronald Reagan said that “It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.”
According to an FBI report Jews are ten times more likely to be victims of hate crimes than are Muslims, but like most Liberals, facts are something to be looked at and discarded…unless, of course, they favor the liberal cause.
I would have to say that if ignorance is bliss, Ms Goldberg is one of the most blissful people around.
