NO AL GORE CARTOON–Just a Heartfelt Retraction/Correction; and an Observation About the Authoritarian Left

I was recently told by an editor of some local news outlet that my short essay about Algore telling us poor uneducated yokels that “global warming deniers” should get tossed in the can (or words to that effect) … was all wrong. Apparently, some other moron said those exact words about jailing climate change deniers.

Please control your laughter. You can get hurt by laughing too hard. You, like me, are probably wondering if it really matters when quoting the exact wording of a pronouncement of some money grubbing, self-serving, Al-Jazerro promoting, Remington Raider Vietnam vet (thanks for your service, Al … did they have “white-out” back then?), son of a big time Senator, wealth-inheriting billionaire, internet inventing scholar …fraud. Does quote attribution really matter? Of course not.

What Algore actually said was enclosed in the following paragraph:

For the third time in the last few years, Al Gore, founder and chairman of the Climate Reality Project, spoke at the festival on Friday. Naturally, his interactive discussion focused on addressing the climate crisis. The former vice president focused on the need to “ punish climate-change deniers, saying politicians should pay a price for rejecting ‘accepted science,’” said the Chicago Tribune .

OK. So leaving aside for the moment, Al’s quip about “accepted science” (Al once said the core of the Sun is “millions of degrees,” which is not “accepted science” and makes me wonder if he could recognize ANY form of science, in spite of the fact he invented the internet), let’s focus on what he actually meant about “punishing …deniers.” Does he mean people who disagree with his version of reality should be denied their freedom and property …or life? You don’t need to have attended law school to understand such an idea is not consonant with American concepts about liberty and justice and due process. (I don’t follow Al and his life much…so I don’t know if he attended law school …or only took some typing classes in the Army. If he is an attorney, he should get his law school tuition reimbursed. He learned nothing.)

There is a process for putting people in jail. It involves making laws through the legislature first. (I know…I know …anything that involves our current Congress seems doomed to failure right out of the gates, but that’s how it’s supposed to work.) The new law should be based on good and fair policies … not Al’s Special Junk Science. Then and only then can society punish those who violate the new law. Real lawbreakers, not people who only violate Al’s fiats and self-serving whims.

Al’s off-the-cuff comment exemplifies the naked side of liberal thinking. This is what liberals are truly all about. This Alspeak statement is pure Stalin, Marx, Lenin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Castro, North Korean deadly gibberish.

If Al had absolute Czar-like authority, he would probably explain how he would expedite this nettlesome “due process” thingy by simply putting bullets through brains. Saves money and time.

In fairness, maybe Al meant that people who are “Deniers” should suffer exclusion from public office, courtesy of the voters. But…isn’t that what happened to him? (So, that’s probably not what he meant.)

By the way, the editor said the guy who really said “Deniers” should be locked up … was a Kennedy. No surprise, right? You can’t make this stuff up. Maybe I dreamt that part.

The editor mentioned above works on a news organ where my stuff appears, but which, on the one occasion I checked, had only one “comment” about my stuff. To wit; “Bowers is an idiot.” As you can see …the readership may be small, but it’s astute.

Steve Bowers

Steve Bowers grew up on a farm in Indiana, attended Indiana University and went into the construction business. While working on a construction project at a law school he was appalled at how lawyers could screw stuff up on a simple building project. Thinking he could do better, Steve went to law school. He’s pretty naive.
