TRICKY DICK HILLARY: 14 Reasons Why Hillary’s Scandals Are This Century’s Watergate

The only difference is that she’ll slide and probably still run for President. Why? Because she’s Hillary, of course.

1) Held Highly Influential Positions of Power

Richard Nixon: 37th President of the United States of America, January 20, 1969 to June 9, 1974
Hillary Clinton: 67th United States Secretary of State, January 21, 2009 to February 1, 2013

2) Involved in Most Significant Scandal of Time Period

Nixon: On June 17, 1972 five men were arrested for breaking and entering into the Watergate complex – home to the Democratic National Committee headquarters. Theirintention was to bug the DNC offices. Watergate would eventually be coined the worse political scandal of the twentieth century and the beginning of the end of the Nixon presidency.
Clinton: On September 11, 2012 four Americans were killed during attacks by Islamic militants on a diplomatic mission and a C.I.A. compound in Benghazi. Coined the most significant attack on United States property in 11 years, since Sept. 11, 2001.

3) Intimately Connected To Scandal

Nixon: Shortly after the break-in, one of the burglars was revealed to be a security aide from the Republican Party. Connections were drawn when a $25,000 cashier’s check was deposited in April into the bank account of one of the men arrested from the committee for the Re-election of Nixon. FBI agents eventually established that the Watergate break-in stemmed from a massive campaign of political spying and sabotage conducted on behalf of the Nixon reelection effort.
Clinton: Clinton was the Secretary of State during the time of the attacks in Benghazi, and therefore the head of the United States Department of State – meaning she was responsible for foreign affairs. Reports showing she had intelligence about the threats place her at the epicenter of the communication mishap that cost the lives of four Americans.

4) Initial Reaction: Deflection

Nixon: Five days following the break-in, Nixon claimed “nobody in his White House was involved in the bizarre incident”. His press secretary claimed the break-in was “a third-rate burglary attempt”.
Clinton: Despite taking responsibility, Clinton deflected the importance of her involvement and tried to spin the story by criticizing the media for creating a “political slugfest” by “exploiting this tragedy over and over as a political tool” – yet refused to admit she had intelligence of the security threats prior to the attack.

5) Delayed Investigation

Nixon: When an investigation was launched, Nixon’s first question was “who was the asshole who ordered it?” – directed one of his top staffers, H.R. Haldeman. He went as far as he could to shut the investigation down.
Clinton: It took Clinton a full nine days to order an investigation into the fatal attack.
