ANOTHER LEFT-WING RANT FROM THE FIRST LADY: Michelle Obama ‘Shapes a Revolution’ at Oberlin

Lately, Michelle Obama is agreeing to give commencement addresses at colleges where race, gender and LGBT activism are all the rage. After sounding more like Malcolm X than Booker T at Tuskegee last week, this week Mrs. Obama went to Oberlin, Ohio to reiterate at a private liberal arts/music conservatory more of the radical left-wing politics she proudly embraces.

Don’t let the fact that in 1833 two Presbyterian ministers founded Oberlin throw you off. Let’s just say that actress/writer/director/leftist darling Lena Dunham of “The men and women who work at Planned Parenthood centers across America are heroes to me” fame is among Oberlin alumni.

In other words, at this juncture, Oberlin is as far removed from founder and “father of modern revivalism” Charles Grandison Finney as Tuskegee is from Booker T. Washington.

That’s why Michelle, who’s been quite bold lately in race-focused commencement speeches, prior to Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund, giving the keynote speech, felt relaxed encouraging Oberlin graduates who “truly wish to carry on the Oberlin legacy of service and social justice… to rise above the noise and shape the revolutions of your time.”

In honor of a husband that regularly flouts the Constitution and is a polarizing force who repeatedly acts unilaterally, the first lady told 695 graduates to gravitate toward “contentious, polarized gridlocked places you can find, because so often throughout our history those have been the places where progress really happens.”

Michelle shared that her husband’s “progress” includes “twelve million new jobs… [and] …Sixteen million people …finally having health insurance.” What Mrs. Obama failed to cite was the 25 million new illegal immigrants filling those jobs and the other 25 million who, thanks to Obamacare, have either lost or been unable to afford health insurance.

Michelle also recapped for the graduating class full of mostly Lena Dunham clones that her husband has been personally responsible for “Historic agreements to fight climate change,” but she left out the minor detail that those policies will raise electricity prices so high that most Americans will probably be unable to afford groceries.

Apparently unaware that upsurges in financial aid funding has caused “epic increases” in college tuition, Mrs. Obama boasted of “epic increases in college financial aid,” and touted “more progress on LGBT rights than any time in our history” – a step forward that has given 3% of the population the authority to dictate the moral code to 97% of the population.

Predictably, at a college noted for having been the first American institution of higher learning to regularly admit, in addition to white males, female and black students, after touching upon the whole spectrum of liberal topics, Michelle dragged race into the discourse.

The first lady brought up daughters, Sasha and Malia, saying, “And today, it is no longer remarkable to see two beautiful black girls walking their dogs on the South Lawn of the White House lawn.”

Always “down for the struggle” and a beautiful black woman herself, Michelle then began channeling 1960s civil rights movement/black power revolutionary Stokely Carmichael, aka Kwame Touré:

See, graduates, this is what happens when you turn your attention outward and decide to brave the noise and engage yourself in the struggles of our time. And that’s why, in his remarks 50 years ago, Dr. King urged the class of ‘65 to ‘stand up’ and ‘be a concerned generation.’

Then Ms.“Stand up” segued into her best community activist exhortation:

And I want to be very clear: Every city ordinance, every ballot measure, every law on the books in this country – that is your concern. What happens at every school board meeting, every legislative session – that is your concern. Every elected official who represents you, from dogcatcher all the way to President of the United States – they are your concern.

Wait! Before advising graduates to be concerned about “every law on the books”, maybe Michelle should have had a chat about that subject with her husband who, every chance he gets, disregards “every law on the books”.

The FLOTUS urged grads to “[G]et out there and volunteer on campaigns, and then hold the folks you elect accountable” – that is, unless the elected folks are unaccountable Democrats, and the person doing the holding is conservative Oberlin alumna Michelle Malkin.

Renowned first lady of “Uptown Funk”, admonished Oberlin graduates to “Get in there… [and]…Shake things up.” Then, she warned them to “Make sure the folks who represent you share your values and aspirations,” which is probably guidance Mrs. Obama would never be caught sharing at universities like Liberty or Brigham Young.

After covering every point on a laundry list of directives, the only thing Michelle left out was the promise of ACORN-style government-provided propane-fueled buses being made available to shuttle environmentally concerned Oberlin grads to political rallies and elections.

Ending with an ethereal challenge that came with no practical directive, the FLOTUS spurred grads to “rise above the noise and shape the revolutions of your time.”

And Michelle would know, because what is clear is that while traveling the “clamorous highways of life” Mrs. Obama’s journey only has true meaning when she’s busy “engaging in the struggle” and inciting revolution.
