1. Syed Farook has been confirmed as a Shooter in #SanBernadino Jihad. Via IB Times: UPDATE 9:50 p.m. EST: San Bernardino County public records reveal a person named Syed R. Farook was employed by the health department as an environmental health specialist, the Los Angeles Timesreported. It was not clear if the employee was the same man as the suspect linked to the shooting. Original story: Media reports identified Sayeed Farouk as one of three shooting suspects involved Wednesday in a police standoff after gunmen killed least 14 people and injured at least 17 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. Two suspects -- a female and a male -- were killed and a third was detained Wednesday, authorities said. Investigations into the shooting developed into a high-speed car chase that ended with the two suspects dead. Police did not confirm if the suspects in the SUV were believed to be linked to the Wednesday shooting at the disability treatment center. But NBC, MSNBC and other media reports identified a suspect as Farouk, citing multiple law enforcement sources. It was unclear if he was dead or alive. (Source) Share if you think this was Jihad 2. The name of the 2nd Jihad Shooter was Tafsheen Malik. Via NY Times: Chief Jarrod Burguan of the San Bernardino police identified two suspects killed in a shootout with police officers as Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27. They were married and the parents of a 6-month-old daughter, according to Mr. Farook’s brother-in-law, Farhan Khan. Mr. Farook was born in the United States, Chief Burguan said, and he had been employed with the county for five years as a health inspector. He had been at a holiday party on Wednesday and left “angry,” amid a dispute, Chief Burguan said. He and his wife then returned with explosive devices and guns, and wearing tactical gear. Via NY Daily News: Farook, an American citizen, worked for the San Bernardino County Department of Health for the past few years and had a young daughter, his shocked father told the Daily News. “I haven’t heard anything,” the elder Syed Farook told The News before his son’s name became public. “He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.” The shellshocked dad said his son worked as a health technician inspecting restaurants and hotels and graduated from La Sierra High School in Riverside in 2003. Via LA Times: Police officials said Farook had worked for the county for five years. San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said that there were reports of a dispute before Farook left the party. Co-workers told The Times they were shocked to hear Farook’s name linked to the shooting. Two who were in the restroom when the bullets began to fly said he was quiet and polite, with no obvious grudges. They said Farook recently traveled to Saudi Arabia and returned with a new wife he had met online. The couple had a baby and appeared to be “living the American dream,” said Patrick Baccari, a fellow health inspector who shared a cubicle with Farook.
