The latest mass shooting in Colorado Springs has provided yet another avenue for gun and free speech control freaks to advance their cause. This time it is through the cause of mental health. If mentally ill, deprivation of most rights is possible, (check history).
To support my fears key I began research on H.R. 2646, (The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act). If my peers will also give this so much as a cursory study, they will be presented with yet another congressional back door try to further government labeling and subsequently more control of not just guns, but also free speech and more.
Before I am labeled as a fear monger of big government, think about the hidden intent of this Act. Once enacted, this bill can easily be redirected to become a foundation for other frightening “limitations”. If H.R. 2646 is intended to identify those with mental disorders, shouldn’t the top of the list include the mental disorder that is displayed by an insatiable obsession to control the populace, (aka, We the People)? Here I reference Obama, his advisors and Tsars and every Representative and Senator that supports the creation of more bureaucratic alphabet soup to wrap the masses in their web of deceit. Ponder, are your members of State and Federal governments among these true “crazies’ whose appetite for power cannot be satisfied?
I specifically address the hidden intent of the Act and the “explanations” being emailed and mailed to the constituents of the “progressives” in Congress. For gun control they bring up the list of tragic shootings from Thurston High School in 1998, Columbine High School, and others through Umpqua Community College to the recent abortion clinic in Colorado Springs. The catch phrase is; “to keep guns out of the hands of prohibited individuals….” The politicians mold these tragic events to create a foundation to promote an agenda to “overhaul America’s mental health system”, in particular H.R. 2646. Recall that the primary promoters of this Act are the same ones that were, and continue to be, loyal sponsors of the health system catastrophe known as Obamacare that none of them admittedly never read before voting on it.
I keyed in H.R. 2646 and after reading only a few particulars, I became disgusted. To my progressive Representative I quote a prior politician of renown; “There you go again”. You are attempting to cleverly bam-foozle me and your other constituents with bulls**t. Instead, you scare the hell out of me that you want to extend your idiocy even further.
Progressives promote that the intent is to keep guns out of “emotionally disturbed individuals,… that will make incidents like these a thing of the past”. They do not consider that if someone in these audiences had a defense weapon, the casualty count may have been greatly reduced. They key on guns because researching the other side would not fulfill their ultimate desire for more control. I remind them that these examples were “gun free zones” under then existing law and that the proposed bill would not have prevented the shooter from obtaining a gun. And let’s be truthful that crazed persons have used knives, hammers, bats, cars and other “instruments of death” to fulfill their goals.
H.R. 2646 will create yet another powerful bureaucracy having equal power of the EPA, DHS, IRS, FBI, OSHA and so many others. This can then be added to the brew of tyrannical alphabet soup that has become a political cancer. From there it is a small step to add to the list of “mental disorders” that would prohibit gun ownership by the “emotionally disturbed”. For example, I suspect that their first venture will be to establish those that would qualify for the “deny list” for guns would be to invoke the list of 72 Potential Domestic Terrorist indicators created by Janet Napolitano, (and supported by every progressive). in early 2009, retitling them as mentally unstable [1]. Then they’ll add those that Obama has and continues to label as “crazies” for not agreeing with his and their neo-Marxist agenda. To that they’ll surely include those defined as dissenters, such as I; [2]. Perhaps the latest diagnosis of mental illness will be; “Oppositional Defiance Disorder, (ODD) as written by journalist Anthony Martin [3]. ODD
denotes that the person exhibits “symptoms’”such as the questioning of authority, the refusal to follow directions, stubbornness, the unwillingness to go along with the crowd, the practice of disobeying or ignoring orders. Persons may also receive the ODD label if they are considered free thinkers, nonconformists, or individuals who are suspicious of large, centralized government…
The congressional progressive reply will be the same as their mentors, Obama, Pelosi and Reid by begging; “trust me”. HELL NO!!!!! No more. They didn’t read Obamacare before voting on it so I suggest that they accomplish some research this time. Start with Gun Control in the Third Reich [4]. However, it is possible they will use this book as just another roadmap for furthering their control of the citizens; its true meaning falling on deaf ears.
I predict that this bill would also provide jobs for enforcement that would be selective employment as favor to campaign contributors with the same over payment for under performance that has become typical of this government, particularly in recent years. They would be uniformed and armed as addition to Obama’s desired Federal Police that reports directly to him only. And the decision makers for labeling the mentally ill will be political appointees, not those that put health care ahead of the ballot box.
I suggest that their efforts would be better spent listening to their constituents by enforcing existing laws that protect our homeland. That is the primary responsibility of the Federal Government and where most of congress fails miserably.
Congress, DO YOUR JOB as presented in the Constitution! Then the citizens would not have to arm up under the Second Amendment to protect the First Amendment, (and the others) from you.
