To say that the credibility of many of our former prestigious colleges and universities is about to disappear would be a gross understatement. They are rapidly racing toward extinction as the ultimate custodians of higher learning. Going to college used to be a great privilege and many of us paid our own tuition. Some worked while attending classes, other worked until they saved enough to attend. Above all, everybody was there to learn and to be exposed to a variety of views and ideas.
Now everything has changed. Since Barack Hussein Obama has become president, many colleges and universities have, unfortunately, emerged as places where freedom of speech has all but been eliminated to make room for the stifling political correctness. This means that you cannot voice your opinion or ideas if they are different from the prevailing mindset of the campus protester bullies. In recent years, the pro-socialist, communist ideologies of many of the professors are coming out loud and clear.
In many classes, having an opinion different from the faculty, can get you a grade reduction or a course failure. These so-called educators have brain-washed our young, naïve, low-information students. They have been taught from elementary school on up through college to preach diversity…but not to all. To preach freedom of thought…but only if you think like them. To preach tolerance…but not to all.
They scream about how terrible America is and pledge their loyalty to globalism. They have embraced the Muslims at their schools, and denigrated Christianity and Judaism. Many of these students have no knowledge about the issues that they’re actually protesting about. They let groups like the Muslim Students Association, Black Lives Matter, the professional agitators, the anti-Semites, anti-Christian, atheists, Communist bunch tell them what to hate and what to complain about. In short, these students have no critical thinking abilities. Many are spoiled, upper class, and upper middle class kids, who come from liberal households where they always got what they wanted from Mommy and Daddy. They are whiney, undisciplined, coddled, narcissistic, brats. Everything either frightens or offends them. It is sad indeed, that in many cases parents are paying 50 thousand dollars a year or more to send their little darlings to these institutions.
Recently, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, some students felt traumatized by seeing the words “Trump 2016” and “Vote Trump” written in chalk at several sites on campus. They complained of being afraid and in pain from seeing this, and that their safe place was violated. Similar situations have occurred in other colleges and universities throughout the country. At some schools they have demanded the firing of faculty who did not cater to their left-leaning philosophies.
Who are they to demand that the college they’re attending do this or that, or fire anyone? Their demands are outrageous and the college administrators are wusses. Of course, it is important to note that there should never be racial, religious, or any other type of discrimination and if this occurs it must be addressed and resolved quickly. Every student has a right to feel safe and comfortable on campus. You don’t need safe zones to do this. How about mutual respect? A concept these delicate, quickly-offended flowers never heard of. If this mob rule persists in academia, the next generation will emerge from Marxist-dominated institutions which used to be institutions of higher learning. Let’s stop it now.
Get rid of the Communist professors who are poisoning these kids’ minds, get administrators with guts to stand up to these demanding children, start teaching American history and exceptionalism. Stop listening to groups who are only interested in taking this country down and, in some cases, making it into a caliphate. For a change, how about teaching subjects that will prepare these young people for a field or profession that they can work in, make a decent living for their families, and become useful members of society. So far, it looks like the universities are going to be graduating a group of whiney, nasty, stupid, community organizers. Change the culture in the schools or not only will the prestige of academia disappear, but each school will produce graduates who will ultimately bring shame to them.
