Did America Get Here By a DELIBERATE Dumbing Down of Our Children?

How did we get here? To this point in our national story where police officers are openly targeted for execution by political radicals and the best our President can do immediately afterwards is to babble “this isn’t who we are” while blaming gun laws and then proposing that the Justice Department conjoin itself with Black Lives Matter under the aegis of a joint task force in order to solve things.

Keeping in mind that to date the Justice Department inserted itself into municipal police departments any and everywhere Black Lives Matter has demanded.

Keeping in mind that when a police officer is ambushed by a Black Lives Matter activist in a St Louis suburb, the Justice Department is nowhere to be found. Nor are they keen on investigating #Dallas as a hate crime.

Should this be surprising considering this is the same Justice Department whose head met in what was intended to be a secret setting with Bill Clinton a week before its FBI Director told the world that, while in “similar cases” they’d recommend prosecution for what Hillary Clinton did, in the specific case of Hillary Clinton, since she didn’t mean to break the law, no indictment was justified.

Really? Richard Nixon was forced to resign for far, far less than what Hillary Clinton did.

Next time you get pulled over for speeding, making a turn without a blinker or whatever, just say you didn’t intend to do so and see how things go for you.

Yes, none of “this” is “who we are”. But how in the hell did we get here, to this point?

Indeed, how did we get to the point where sitting members of Congress can raise campaign money while they cater themselves a meal at a sit-in performed in the place they are normally sitting in already? As if the spectacle of the pseudo-Sandra Fluke hearings (in case you didn’t get the memo, Fluke never testified before Congress; Congressional Democrats pulled her into an area of Congress and staged what looked like hearings) wasn’t enough we needed to see Elijah Cummings plop his sorry rear end down on the House floor before singing a chorus of “We Shall Overcome” later on.

“We Shall Overcome”. Liberals are quick to try and connect dots back to Selma in 1965 aren’t they? Thing is, Selma was 51 years ago. 51 years! Think about all that has transpired in 51 years:
– We’ve gone from corded phones to cell phones that contain more computing power than your average desktop machine had even a decade ago.

– We went from vinyl albums, to 8-tracks, to cassette tapes, to CDs and DVDs, and then to mp3’s and other downloadable formats. There are shopping malls that don’t even have record stores in them anymore.

– Entire genres of music, film, and literature came and went.

– Bookstores are all but irrelevant when anyone can login and download any book ever published anytime they want.

– We put people on the moon, then developed and concluded the space shuttle program, and now have a private company poised to put people into space.

– Have easily seen more firsts of this and that than at any point in all of human history.

Yet the best liberals can come up with is to try and pretend we’re still collectively, as a nation, trying to march across a bridge into Selma Alabama? Seriously?

Why is this the best they can come up with?

Why is it that they’ve taken the imagery of Selma, and worked overtime to try and pretend that in North Carolina the State Police are hiding in the woods with police dogs and firehoses waiting to unleash wrath upon any transgendered person that picks the wrong bathroom to go potty in?

Why is it that ten years from now the left will take the imagery of Selma, and will work overtime to try and pretend that state-sanctioned violence awaits whatever new fangled grievance group is manufactured to help sustain a sense of crisis somewhere from sea to shining sea.

Part of me wants to blame the left for the way they willfully rape our nation’s intellectual body. The left isn’t solely to blame though.

The core of the problem is that too many Americans have gladly trotted off to Stupidville. They tune into Facebook, The Chew, The View, or any number of afternoon shows as their sole source of information. They listen and nod as some moronic host on one of those shows proudly spouts nonsense – for example, suggesting that an entire high school year books committee be denied their diplomas at graduation because, due to an editorial mistake, a Muslim student’s first name was listed as “Isis”. Oh, the humanity.

Then they head from their cloister into civilization where their numero uno concern consists of things like, “Do I have the best abs I should have”, “Is my muffin top too big”, “I gots ta git turnt up”, or meeting up with friends and then spending the entire time more immersed in the 1X3 device in one’s hand and the social media streaming from it than the living, breathing human being present.

Really?

We have emerged in the 20-teens as the most self-absorbed, superficial, narcissistic, rag-tag bunch of losers ever to walk upon Big Mammy Gaia and we wonder why our country – our very society – is coming off the wheels right before our eyes?

Ladies and gentlemen, we aren’t in the precarious position we are in by chance. We’re there because of a deliberate dumbing down of everything we’ve taken for granted for generations. We have got to get this together.

In my estimation, we’re about half a generation from telling Benjamin Franklin, “Sir, we had a republic but weren’t able to keep it”.

Take sides. Take a stand. And do it now.

Share if you agree the dumbing down of lots of Americans is largely responsible for the condition of the nation today.
