Those Who Want to Live in America Need to Assimilate or Extricate — Do You Agree?
A year ago Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump were pushing this idea that we should pass laws allowing the government to scrutinize anyone with a Muslim background to determine if they should be deported.
Trump seemed to be saying a religious test should apply, clearly unconstitutional.
Gingrich was using Sharia Law as the litmus test: anyone adhering to Sharia cannot possibly take the citizenship oath pledging allegiance to the Flag and the Constitution.
Both proposals were condemned by the MSM and the Democrats and communists and jihadists everywhere as violations of human rights, discriminatory, unlawful, unethical, mean-spirited, the whole ball of wax.
Actually, if we are serious about sovereignty and security, we need only enforce the laws we have on the books, deporting anyone here illegally, and refusing to grant citizenship to anyone who refuses to take the oath and assimilate.
We should also look to deport anyone who calls for mass murder, and anyone, regardless of stripe, who incites one group to violently attack another group.
Gingrich is correct to say anyone devoted to Sharia is immediately disqualified for citizenship. Sharia is completely incompatible with our way of life, with the Constitution, the rule of law, representative government, and separation of church and state.
The case can also be made that anyone pushing communism, always a dictatorial approach, is likewise disqualified for citizenship.
Trump is incorrect to push for a religious test. It is no solution. The proposal causes unnecessary conflict and controversy. It will not get off the ground for obvious reasons, and besides, it misses the point. We are for religious liberty, but we are against mass murderers and Sharia. There must be a differentiation if we are to maintain religious liberty.
The central problem we have today is we have an administration unwilling to enforce the immigration and naturalization laws we have on the books, and worse, an administration that actively undermines our sovereignty and security by ignoring laws it does not like, while illegally installing rules to flood the country with illegals and jihadists.
After we rid ourselves of these traitors, our watch words should be: If you will not assimilate, we must extricate.
