LEFTISTS THREATEN Anti-Trump Coup If He Wins in November — Will You Allow It?
The aftermath of the failed coup against Erdogan in Turkey is troubling. Some 50,000 have been arrested – soldiers, judges, teachers, and average citizens. Erdogan is toying with the idea of bringing back the death penalty as punishment for those found guilty of sedition. For a coup that was supposedly a half-baked effort to remove an increasingly Islamist leader, the fact that 50,000 have been hauled off to jail is worrisome. Erdogan has certainly not let this crisis go to waste for he’s doing things he’d otherwise not be able to.
Take a look at the LA Times and an article about coups written by Jamie Kirchick entitled “If Trump wins, a coup isn’t impossible here in the U.S.”. Oooh, so scary. And typical from fear merchants like Kirchick. A quick look at his Twitter feed includes gems like “Uday and Qusay Trump” – comparing Trump’s sons to Saddam Hussein’s infamous sons. What an intellect Jamie Kirchick brings to the table!
The Kirchick article is typical of the left. In it, he envisions a situation in which mad man Trump would order the military to do something illegal – such as deport people. (The military isn’t empowered to perform law enforcement functions inside the United States, posse comitatus and all). In the face of it, the Generals and Admirals would move on Washington, DC and depose The Donald. So on cue, run screaming into the open arms of Hillary Rodham Clinton and spare America the uncertainty we just witnessed in Turkey.
Where things become worrisome is that Kirchick isn’t the only one on the left that’s suggested that a coup would follow Trump’s election to the White House. Black Lives Matter activists have tweeted about it. The idea of a coup is something brewing among liberals who are coming to terms with the possibility they may lose in November, that their endless lawsuits to challenge ballots cast in swing states may fail, and once that happens they think the American military will intervene on their behalf.
Hypocritical in all this is the left’s disdain for our Armed Forces. Sure, the Jamie Kirchick types will claim they “love our troops” but the vast body of liberal conduct over the past decade renders that claim moot. The only reason Jamie Kirchick and others opine for a coup is that the use of military force in a purely domestic political context would represent the ultimate expression of pure, unadulterated, authoritarian force against those they disagree with. Because the left deep down craves authority and conformity – provided they are the authority enforcing the conformity.
Proof positive of this are the flag-burners that showed up at the GOP Convention in Cleveland the afternoon of Wednesday July 20. In typical liberal fashion, they were too stupid to actually know how to set the flag on fire – sorry, kiddos, but a Bic lighter ain’t gonna set synthetic fibers alight. They also showed up with manufactured signs and t-shirts that said things like “America has never been great” and “Overthrow this system”. In other words, they were more of the leftist rent-a-mobs we’ve seen so much of at Trump events.
The url listed on the placards held by these rent-a-mobs (www.revcom.us) – the “Revolutionary Communist Party”. Talk about loons. On their website they have their proposed “Constitution for a Socialist North America” and in it, among other things, they praise the notion of dictatorship. Naturally, they are based in Chicago where Saul Alinsky and so many others cut their ideological teeth. Their postal address is Box 3486, Merchandise Mart, Chicago IL 60654-0486 and their email address is rcppubs@hotmail.com – for diehard communists they interestingly don’t mind having “merchandise mart” in their address, or using a technology to send/receive messages that exists solely because of the capitalism they despise.
Perhaps the teachable moment bookended by Kirchick and the Revolutionist Communist Party is this: it’s only July, not only do we have around four months of such shrill reactionary nonsense to look forward to…If Trump wins the White House they’ll become truly unhinged over the course of the next four years.
