WATCH: Here’s The Only COLOR Footage Of Pearl Harbor Being Attack Dec. 7th, 1941
The Date Which Will Live In Infamy … was filmed in progress by an American Serviceman.
The quality isn’t great — it’s a copy of the original, but it’s the only actual color footage of that attack.
Serviceman Doughtry caught the Surprise attack on his own camera, as it was happening. The original footage was lost, but this copy survives.
Have a look.

This COLOR footage of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was shot by CWO4 Clyde Daughtry. The original footage has since been lost, and the poor quality of this footage is due to the fact that it is a copy.
Among the many valuable portions of this footage are shots of USS Nevada (BB-36) underway and firing back at Japanese aircraft, USS Oglala (CM-4) rolling over and sinking, and USS St. Louis underway (CL-4). —Federalist Papers
