BREAKING: Matt Lauer FIRED! Here’s 18 Things You Need To Know

UPDATE: New shocking allegations confirmed!

The female hosts of ‘Today’ broke the news to America moments after being informed by NBC.

Just after the theme music and a ‘Good Morning,’ Savannah Guthrie opened the ‘Today’ show with the news of the firing of her co-worker, Matt Lauer.

She said that though they were ‘shocked’, ‘devastated’ and ‘heartbroken’, NBC will continue to report on the story as ‘journalists’.

Yeah, let’s get back to that in a second.

First, here’s what you need to know.

1. His colleagues just learned of it moments before airtime.

‘This is a sad morning here at Today and NBC News,’ said a tearful Savannah Guthrie while revealing the news at the start of the popular morning show…

…’We learned this moments ago, just this morning. As you can imagine, we are devastated. And we are still processing all of this,’ said Guthrie.

‘I will tell you, we do not know more than what I just shared with you. But we will be covering this story, as reporters, as journalists. I’m sure we’ll learn more details in the hours and days to come. We promise to share that with you’

It’s somewhat ironic that they used the phrase ‘Dear Colleague’ in the letter, don’t you think?

Watch the tearful Savannah Guthrie and verklempt Hoda Kotb earlier this morning:

2. His co-anchors are shocked and saddened, but still believe there should be a reckoning for sexual harassment.

Much like the statements by Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King on ‘CBS This Morning’ last week following the firing of Charlie Rose, Guthrie and Kotb spoke about the need for victims of sexual misconduct to be believed.

Guthrie was tearing up at times, but managed to keep her composure on-air. She expressed her sadness about Lauer’s firing, but also her compassion for the ‘brave colleague’ that came forward with the allegations.

‘Hoda, I mean, you know, for the moment, all we can say is we are heartbroken. I’m heartbroken for Matt. He is my dear, dear friend and my partner. And he is beloved by many, many people here,’ said Guthrie.

‘And I’m heartbroken for the brave colleague that came forward to tell her story and any other women who have their own stories to tell.’

Guthrie and Kobt were obviously shaken by the news, but well, it looks like this might have been another ‘open secret’ over at NBC. Lauer, though married, was rumored to have had affairs with NBC staffers.

And you’re saying the co-anchors didn’t know any of that or hear the rumors?

Puh-leeze.

3. NBC received a ‘detailed complaint’ regarding ‘inappropriate sexual behavior’ at the workplace which led them to believe that it may not have been an isolated incident.

In a statement on Wednesday, Today said: ‘Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.’

Lauer had been at the helm of Today since January 6, 1997, having initially started at NBC in 1992 when he filled in as a newsreader on Today.

He then joined the program in January 1994 he joined the show full-time as a news anchor.

4. Lauer is married and has 3 children… but it’s complicated

Lauer has been married for almost 20 years to wife Annette, a former model who was born in the Netherlands.

The two wed in 1998, just one year after he was made a co-anchor of the show, a job for which he had been earning an annual salary of $25 million.

Lauer and his wife have three children – Jack, then 5, and Romy and Thijs – who live in East Hampton with their mother while their their[sic] father stays in the city alone from Monday through Thursday in an Upper East Side bachelor pad.

It’s been rumored that he’s been having consensual affairs for years.

His wife, Annette famously filed for divorce in 2006, accusing him of “cruel and inhumane” behavior, but withdrew the filing a month later after they reached a private agreement.

They ostensibly live separate lives, she lives full time in the Hamptons with their children, while Matt resides in the city during the week.

5. Lauer was accused of sexual assault at the Olympic Games in Rio

Matt Lauer allegedly sexually assaulted a female NBC staffer during the Rio Olympics, sources told Page Six.

The staffer, who has not been named and wishes to remain anonymous, complained to NBC bosses yesterday, prompting NBC News bosses to move fast and fire him.

A source told Page Six, “An NBC staffer come forward with a claim that Matt sexually assaulted her at the Olympics. There have been rumors about Matt having affairs with subordinates at NBC for years, but those were believed to be consensual. This incident in Rio was not.”

6. The firing was decided by Andy Lack, NBC News Chairman, because other news outlets were working on stories of Lauer’s sexual misconduct.

Another source tells us that the decision to fire Lauer was made late last night by NBC News chairman Andy Lack.

Lauer’s firing comes amid rumors that several news outlets were working on stories about his alleged sexual misconduct.

Reporters for The New York Times had been investigating Lauer for several weeks, according to sources who had been contacted by the paper, CNN reported.

If that’s the case, then why were Guthrie and Kotb so shocked? If this has been going on for a while, wouldn’t they have heard rumors about it?

7. Lauer has connections to… guess who? Yep. The Clinton Foundation.

Matt Lauer, along with Tom Brokaw (and many other national journalists) are members of Hillary’s foundation. The list includes Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric, Maria Bartiromo, and, of course, George Stephanopoulos.

8. When conducting an on-air phone interview with then-candidate Donald Trump, he asked if Trump cared that ’70 percent of women’ viewed him negatively

“You, on the other hand, seem to continue to say things that alienate women voters,” Lauer said, citing Trump’s recent comments accusing Clinton, the all-but-certain Democratic nominee, of “playing the woman’s card” as she campaigns for her party’s presidential nomination.

Seventy percent of women in this country say they have a negative view of you,” Lauer said, referring to a Gallup poll. “Do you even care?

The phone interview was a tag-team of Lauer and Guthrie attacking Trump for ‘alienating’ women.

UPDATE:

Don’t forget that it was Matt Lauer that grilled Bill O’Reilly after the firing of the Fox News Ratings King over sexual harassment allegations. It looks pretty wild when you rewatch it.

You can check out the video and our ClashDaily report here:

O’Reilly’s Back And He’s Kicking Butt & Taking Names – Do You Believe Him?

Wowza. He kept wringing his hands and saying, ‘Would somebody please, think of the women!’ then asked if O’Reilly had ‘done some soul-searching’ on his behavior with women.

Looking back, that looks like he was trying to get some tips on how to handle the situation from O’Reilly.

9. Lauer’s harassment of women was both rampant and absolutely disgusting

An explosive expose about Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual harassment of female employees at NBC reveals that the anchor allegedly flashed his penis at one woman and bought another a sex toy.

Variety spoke with 10 past and present workers at the company who accused Lauer of a vast array of sexual misconduct, including the woman who claims that she was sexually assaulted by the show’s long-time anchor beginning in 2014 at the Sochi Olympics.

It was this allegation of sexual assault that was the downfall of Lauer. The unnamed woman brought forward her claim of sexual assault to the human resources and the legal departments of NBC News on Monday night.

…None of the 10 individuals who spoke with Variety are identified in the piece, including the woman who got the sex toy along with ‘an explicit note about how he wanted to use it on her.’

That woman said she was ‘mortified,’ while a fellow co-worker’s state was described as ‘visibly shaken’ after Lauer allegedly flashed her in his office.

When she did not do anything, Lauer reportedly ‘reprimanded her for not engaging in a sexual act.’

10. More women are coming forward with allegations and also say that NBC News protected Lauer. NBC News disputes this claim.

That swift response was still not enough for some women however, who said their complaints to executives at the company fell on deaf ears.

An NBC spokesperson disputed this though, to DailyMail.com, stating: ‘We can say unequivocally, that, prior to Monday night, current NBC News management was never made aware of any complaints about Matt Lauer’s conduct.’

Really NBC News?

There’s enough here to believe that this was another ‘open secret’.

11. Allegedly, Lauer called at least one woman into his office just to have sex with her

The New York Times reported shortly after the expose dropped that two new complaints had been filed against Lauer by NBC employees, including one woman who said that in 2001 she was summoned by Lauer to his office to have sex.

The unnamed woman, who was married at the time, said that given Lauer’s position she did not believe that she had a choice at the time.

12. When he was covering the Olympic Games in various cities, he used the time away to harass women working for NBC News

Those interviewed said it was at the OIympic Games where Lauer made moves on a number of female staff members.

‘Lauer would invite women employed by NBC late at night to his hotel room while covering the Olympics in various cities over the years,’ claims Variety reporter Ramin Setoodeh.

‘He later told colleagues how his wife had accompanied him to the London Olympics because she didn’t trust him to travel alone.’

13. He had a device under his desk that allowed him to lock the door remotely. Talk about CREEPY!

…in that office Lauer had a device under his desk that allowed him to lock the door, something he had added after the departure of his co-host Katie Couric in 2006.

‘His office was in a secluded space, and he had a button under his desk that allowed him to lock his door from the inside without getting up,’ writes Setoodeh.

‘This afforded him the assurance of privacy. It allowed him to welcome female employees and initiate inappropriate contact while knowing nobody could walk in on him.’

14. Lauer used his position of power to prey on women because he wanted to sleep around, but keep his ‘respectable’ family-man persona

‘There were a lot of consensual relationships, but that’s still a problem because of the power he held,’ said one producer.

‘He couldn’t sleep around town with celebrities or on the road with random people, because he’s Matt Lauer and he’s married. So he’d have to do it within his stable, where he exerted power, and he knew people wouldn’t ever complain.’

15. When one attractive producer caught his eye, he focused on her career ambitions… for a little quid pro quo

While not named, one woman in particular seemed to catch Lauer’s eye according to thse interviewed for the piece.

‘Several employees recall how he paid intense attention to a young woman on his staff that he found attractive, focusing intently on her career ambitions,’ reads the story.

‘And he asked the same producer to his hotel room to deliver him a pillow.’

16. His inappropriate behavior was right out in the open

Lauer’s fixation on woman’s bodies and physical appearance is also a big part of the story, with multiple people saying that he would often play the game ‘F***, Marry or Kill’ with staffers.

One of the show’s anchors would often gossip about Lauer’s sexual escapades according to staffers while a former reporter said: ‘Management sucks there. They protected the s*** out of Matt Lauer.’

Because it was so open, it means that this scripted clip didn’t age well:

Neither did this claim by Katie Couric:

Wanna try again with that stunned reaction, Savannah? We’re not buying it.

Katie Couric worked with him for 15 years and she looked rather disgusted when she said that he pinched her butt a lot.

17. He’s not leaving NBC News alone

He is exiting meanwhile in the wake of his longtime booker Matt Zimmerman also losing his job.

Zimmerman was also dismissed for sexual harassment.

Birds of a feather, I guess.

18. This may just be the tip of the iceberg

There are still more women set to come forward as well in a second expose that is set to be published by The New York Times.

Reporter Yashar Ali also shared on Wednesday that he too had spoken to at least one individual who accused Lauer of exposing himself in her presence.

All these leftists that were attacking President Trump last year for his ‘grab them by the p-ssy’ comment are the ones actually doing the grabbing.

How about leftists hold the outrage until they get their own house in order.

Because right now, it’s just a mess over there on the left with these so-called ‘feminist’ men.

These Democrats like Bill Clinton, Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, John Conyers, and the Media (D) members like Charlie Rose and Matt Lauer are making it pretty clear that it’s not so safe around these ‘feminist’ leftists.

NBC Today – ‘Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.’ Remember when Matt condemned Trump and O’Reilly for less? We do!

That’s why we’ve launched our SEX, DRUGS & MATT LAUER T-shirt in both men’s and Ladies’ styles.

Enjoy.

And the best part? This shirt is made in the USA, printed in the USA, on an American-Made t-shirt press!

Speaking of Badasses…

Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.

Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.
