The sister of unrepentant Manhattan terrorist, Sayfullo Saipov, has spoken to the media. Here’s what she had to say…
Umida Saipova, speaking on the phone from Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, said that she is concerned that her brother may have been ‘brainwashed’ and hopes that President Trump would help ensure that he receives a ‘fair trial’.

Saipova told Reuters that she and her family were shocked when they saw her brother with a long beard after his marriage in 2013.
‘We don’t know who has brainwashed him,’ Saipova told RFE. ‘Perhaps he’s become part of some organised group. I don’t know, honestly, how long it will take for his head to get rid of that poison, but I’m sure he will come to his senses, God willing.’
Trump has tweeted of Saipov: ‘should move fast. DEATH PENALTY!’
Saipova told RFE she and her family hoped her brother would not be sentenced to death in some rushed show trial.
She said that she had spoken to Saipov the day before the truck attack that killed 8 and injured many more.
‘He was in a good mood. It was a usual, good conversation,’ she was cited as saying.

Siapov has shown no remorse for his actions and seems rather proud of his ‘accomplishment’. He chose Halloween to commit the attack knowing the streets would be crowded. He said that he wanted to kill as many people as possible.
He even asked for an ISIS flag to be put up in his hospital room.
