The NFL’s reputation and ratings were in free-fall. And now this.
Have Goodell and the rest started wondering yet if they might not be on the wrong side of this issue? Not only have they been getting their lunch eaten in the ratings…
Not only are there so many empty seats in the stadiums that ‘the wave’ looks like a light drizzle of rain…
Not only has the NFL’s own policy been used to nail them for hypocrisy in their supposed defense of ‘free expression’…

But now, even famous broadcasters have made NFL’s PR nightmare worse.
Vin Scully — the ‘Voice of Summer’ — took HIS turn to ‘pull up a chair’. The Famous Dodgers Announcer had a couple of things to say on the topic.

I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed.
And I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday.
And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year, didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything.
But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war.
So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game.
He’s a lifelong broadcaster… but one who understands that actions speak more loudly than words.
Will his ‘right to protest’ now be condemned by the Left?
Will people be ‘outraged’ that his massive clout is not being thrown into support of ‘the cause’?
Time will tell. But the better question is… will anyone be left to care?

NFL’s TV ratings are plummeting as more players refuse to stand for the national anthem. It’s hard to believe that a nation that has given these players the opportunity to achieve so much is so easily disrespected. Even worse, consider the men and women who have laid down their lives so that these athletes could live in a relatively safe country and enjoy their fame and fortune.
Hard-working, patriotic Americans don’t want to watch a bunch of whiners play football. They want to watch winners.
