Footage by the hero whose truck pursued the shooter, filmed when police were still arriving on the scene.
Before any of us knew whether the gunman was still alive or dead, this footage was being filmed.
As you watch this, you will notice one police vehicle rolling up on the gunman’s car, with the police officer using the open door as a screen.
That is followed by one after another arriving on scene, and absolutely swarming the suspect’s car.
You can see police yelling at Johnnie Lagendorff — whose truck Willeford jumped into in pursuit of the gunman — to stay back. So obviously, they still see the gunman as a threat at this point.
At some point, the two heroes are pulled to the side and you see the police officer — whose weapon is still at the ready — taking their information.
You can tell how fresh and intense this is because Willeford is still trembling from the adrenaline that was surely still surging through his system.
The emotion is obvious in his voice as he recounts his story.
You will notice, if you look down, he was in such a hurry to respond that he didn’t bother to put on shoes.
In a VERY related story… here is a discussion about what religious leaders could and should do to protect those in attendance in THIER local context.

The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.
Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?
It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church leaders.
We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.
We need to Obey Jesus.
Including what he said in Luke 22:36.
He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
