Lock and load? Turn the other cheek? What’s a pastor supposed to tell his flock in this crazy mixed-up world?
When we turn on the news to see more than two dozen fatal shootings while attending a Sunday Church meeting — and many others that were injured — the protective instincts of a shepherd should be kicking in.
The pacifist line might point to those who were martyred for their faith in times past. True, but generally, those people were martyred by their own government, sentenced to death because they knowingly chose to ‘obey God rather than Ceasar’.
Or if you get killed facing off preaching the hard truth of a loving God to your generation’s answer to the Prophets of Baal? Yeah, that’s an occupational hazard of following Christ.
But what about some punk with a grudge? Are we supposed to let him walk in and start mowing down the parish? Are we supposed to rely on the police and hope their response time is better than the attacker’s rate of fire?
(And doesn’t calling the police negate the whole ‘pacifist’ response anyway, considering they’ll face off with the attacker, guns drawn?)
Is it consistent to delegate to someone else an action you morally object to doing yourself?
Is there a third option?
We’re glad you asked. There is ABSOLUTELY a third option. (That is, if you’re able to handle it. Some nicer-than-Christ types already have their panties in a twist over it.)
Two ordained Ministers, (and, incidentally, uncompromising Badasses) weigh in on that meaty topic.
Every Pastor Needs to Hear this Discussion on the Use DEADLY Force

But if you’re one of those Precious Moments, Thomas Kinkade warm-and-fuzzies Christian? You might have to buckle up and strap on a cup for this one.
If you were able to make it through that video, you just might love this:
The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.
Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?
It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church leaders.
We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.
We need to Obey Jesus.
Including what he said in Luke 22:36.
He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
