Good idea? Or too little, too late?
Maybe the empty seats and cratered ratings have begun to get the owners’ attention.
With all the drama from last year, the NFL is looking like a wounded gazelle on the Serengeti. And there are not one, but TWO new challengers crashing the Major League football market in the near future, looking to knock off the top dog.
Now that the damage is done, the league is scrambling to fix it.
One suggestion is to penalize the teams with players that kneel.
Here’s their grand plan.
How does it rate?
On Tuesday, NFL owners put three hours aside for a privileged session to speak—amongst themselves and family members—about the most sensitive of topics.
One was how the league will handle players kneeling during the national anthem going forward. An idea being floated in the room goes like this: It would be up to the home team on whether both teams come out of the locker room for the anthem, and, should teams come out, 15-yard penalties could be assessed for kneeling.
It bears mentioning that the ‘take a knee’ protest was SO damned successful that even the sympathetic media has moved on from that particular issue. The shiny object they’re fascinated with right now is the publicity whore routine of a creepy porn lawyer/publicist.
So, blowing up your league, and taking the ax to the goose with the golden egg…
…how’s that working out for you?
Especially with two competitor leagues who would gladly pick you off and take your place.
For example, McMahon is explicitly targeting the MAGA crowd who are sick and tired of putting up with attention-seeking, lawbreaking anti-patriots.
In the meantime, there’s still the ladies’ league, they’ve apparently got bigger ‘stones’ than the NFL.

A shirt that aptly describes the NFL — No Fans Left.
NFL’s TV ratings are plummeting as more players refuse to stand for the national anthem. It’s hard to believe that a nation that has given these players the opportunity to achieve so much is so easily disrespected. Even worse, consider the men and women who have laid down their lives so that these athletes could live in a relatively safe country and enjoy their fame and fortune.
Hard-working, patriotic Americans don’t want to watch a bunch of whiners play football. They want to watch winners.
And the best part? This shirt is made in the USA, printed in the USA, on an American-Made t-shirt press!
