Can they identify the tool he carried that permitted him to address the threat? A GUN you say?

This is how school resource officers are SUPPOSED to behave. Even the cowardly ones in Broward, who didn’t follow their own damn policy.

Meet the hero cop that stopped a killer, cold.

WRAL reported that the alleged gunman was confronted by an armed resource officer, and Dixon city manager Danny Langloss said the alleged gunman fired at the officer. The officer responded in kind, striking the alleged gunman.

ABC7 reports that Dallas was the resource officer and the alleged gunman was “19-year-old Matt Milby,” a former student. Dallas was not harmed in the exchange of gunfire, but Milby received non-life-threatening injuries.

Dixon Police Chief Steven Howell Jr. praised Dallas, saying, “I could not be more proud of the police officer and the way he responded to the situation. While shots were ringing out through the hallways of the school, he charged towards the suspect and confronted him head on.”

It’s simple math. When the people being shot at have the means and training to shoot back, they’ve got much better odds of surviving.
