This bro thinks that separating children from their parents crossing the border illegally is evil. It’s so bad that he decides that he needs to take some action to prevent it.
A man described by neighbors as a ‘gentle soul’ called up the constituency office of Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) and threaten to kill Mast’s young children because… #Tolerance.
The call to action has gone out with the #Resist crowd and it’s being answered.
Apparently, finding it inhumane to toss kids into jail with their parents that have committed an illegal act is a greater offense than threatening to murder the children of a Republican Congressman.
Who knew.
Laurence Wayne Key is facing federal charges under the offense of “communication of a threat to kidnap or injure a person.”
A criminal complaint shows Key is accused of calling Mast’s Washington, D.C. office Monday, and telling an intern who answered the phone, “I’m going to find the Congressman’s kids and kill them. If you’re going to separate kids at the border, I’m going to kill his kids. Don’t try to find me because you won’t.’
Documents show that the intern reported the phone call to their supervisor. The FBI was made aware of the threat and began an investigation. Key was arrested shortly after allegedly making the threat.
Key denies the accusation and said that he didn’t actually threaten to kill the children, but that if Rep. Mast supported President Trump enforcing the law that separates children from their parents that have violated immigration law, then Rep. Mast should be separated from his kids.
Phone records show that Key has called Rep. Mast’s office 478 times. He also called Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Sen. Bill Nelson’s offices Monday.
The FBI was contacted and Key is being held at the St. Lucie County jail awaiting a bond hearing.
Key is one of those ‘male feminists’ that you should always be wary of.
Key’s social media pages show he is very politically active. He volunteers regularly for the Democratic Party of Martin County and has volunteered many hours for Planned Parenthood, according to a friend of Key’s.
Key is also seen in a picture speaking to Mast at an event.
Friends of Key’s call him a ‘gentle soul’ and do not believe he would ever hurt anyone.
