Fans of the Little Rascals will remember “The He-Man Woman-Haters Club.” It was a neighborhood boys’ club founded by Spanky and included all the guys. The club was founded as an exclusive club and as a defense against girls and Valentine’s Day. The initiation vow included answering the questions, “Do you promise never to trade your bubble gum card with a girl? Never lend your best fishing worms to a girl and never let a girl carry your books home from school?”
We chuckle at the silliness of that old television series. What isn’t a laughing matter, though, is the “He-man Woman-Haters Club” that has formed on the Left and is promoted by Democrats and the media. There is a new club in town; one that is dedicated to ridicule, marginalize and smear women who support President Trump. This new “He-Man Woman-Haters Club” is not just for guys in the neighborhood. Liberals of both genders attack with a ferocity and a fervency not seen in a long time.
Our first lady, Melania Trump, is a frequent target of this hate group. A New York Times feature writer, Jacob Bernstein, referred to her as “a hooker” in a 2017 tweet, for which he later apologized. Jimmy Kimmel notoriously made fun of her accent and Joy Behar, of The View, continues to mock the first lady about her background, her parents and her intelligence.
Melania Trump, though, is an intelligent woman. She is fluent in five languages including her native Slovenian, as well as English, French, Serbian and German. Despite all the attacks, the first lady continues to demonstrate grace, kindness and patience.
Another woman who’s borne the brunt of attacks is presidential advisor Kellyanne Conway. Harper’s Bazaar, in a March 2017 article, quoted feminist writer Erin Gloria Ryan who admitted about attacks on Ms. Conway, “I can’t feel sorry for Kellyanne Conway. Not anymore…. I don’t mind when people point out how tired she looks. Ms. Conway made her bed. And now it’s time for her to get some sleep.”
She’s been slammed as “sewer rat Barbie” and ridiculed on SNL. Molly Ball, in the Atlantic, couldn’t resist calling attention to Conway “winking with one mascara-clotted blue eye.” The haters come out in full force against a woman who is unashamedly pro-life and successful without pledging allegiance to the National Organization for Women.
The “He-Man Woman-Haters Club” have had a field day with Kirstjen Nielsen, the Homeland Security Secretary. She was taunted by a group of demonstrators who chanted “shame” while merely trying to have a quiet dinner. Samantha Bee, while attacking President Trump’s immigration policy, said of Nielsen, intentionally misspelling her words, “she is fjull of shjit.” Rude, crude and mocking jabs are common for this hate group. Nielsen has endured these attacks and continues to oversee an important component of our national security.
Others who have felt the sting of this haters club include Sarah Huckabee Sanders, whose appearance, integrity and background have been attacked. Tomi Lahren and Candace Owens have both been targets simply because they are conservative young women. Ivanka Trump is no stranger to the accusations and assaults of the hateful left. It was the ever-creative Samantha Bee, again, who chose a vulgarity to describe the first daughter.
The list could go on of women who, because of their support for the president, have been vilified, slammed and sometimes even physically confronted by members of the “tolerant” left. The new and ugly version of “The He-Man Woman-Haters Club” is alive and well in the swamps of the establishment.
Many pundits believe the women’s vote will launch the blue wave that will wash away all that is Trump. I’m not sure. The only agenda, as I see it, that the “He-Man Woman-Haters Club” offers women is that they can have unlimited access to abortion and that they can walk in demonstrations wearing disrespectful hats. Here are some real things that the Trump administration has done for women.
The Trump administration has hired an astounding number of women for senior-level positions in the White House. Despite impressive hiring practices, President Trump has received little to no credit for his choice of women for the most senior positions on his cabinet, as well as the West Wing. These hires include notables such as Nikki Haley, Ambassador to the United Nations (not only a woman but also child of Indian American Sikh immigrants) and Elaine Chao, the Secretary of Transportation.
More women have access to jobs and success. Unemployment among the female labor force decreased from 8.6 percent in 2010 to 4.5 percent. According to the Concord Monitor (NH), “the unemployment rates for African Americans and Hispanics have hit all-time lows in recent months on Trump’s watch, and the rate for women was recently the lowest it’s been in more than 18 years.”
Women and men continue to benefit from Trump trade policies, national security positions and family policies. Women and men have seen a restored confidence in America and a surge of patriotism.
Who will get the largest share of the women’s vote in November? Will it be the members of the swamp’s “He-Man Woman-Haters Club,” or will it be the Trump administration and the Republicans? I hope women and men vote in November to continue to Make America Great Again for everyone.
