Here It Is: A Winning, Four-Plank Campaign Formula for Republicans This Fall

In what is an obvious, but important observation, Larry Sabato noted, “Every election is determined by the people who show up.” Our nation is a month away from one of the most important elections we’ve had in a long time. The November midterm elections will determine the course and direction of our country for at least the next two years. Will we have two more years of sustained economic growth, job creation, improved situations for workers and farmers, a strong presence in the world and the unshackling of the American dream for all citizens of this great country or will the Democrats gain control of the House and/or Senate followed by around the clock news of endless, baseless investigations, a continuation of the politics of destroying people and rumors of impeachment? There are several races for Senate, the House and governor that will determine which of the two scenarios will unfold.

The Republicans have a winning platform on which to run. Every GOP. candidate can proudly point to a robust economy. The Unemployment Rate Fell to 3.8% in May, the lowest rate it has been since 2000. Jonathon Trugman, writing in the New York Post in late July this year asserted, “President Trump and his economic team have turned the world’s largest economy from a stale and stagnant one to an empowering and uplifting machine.” Corroborating opinions, though, are not needed to validate how good the economy is. Every Republican candidate only needs to ask the question “Are you better off now than you were three years ago?” Regular people know that President Trump has ignited an economy that benefits all of us.

The second plank of this winning platform is that we have a strong presence in the world. President Trump and his administration worked tirelessly to defeat ISIS and terrorism around the world. The administration is putting maximum pressure on North Korea to denuclearize with the chance of real success and taking a hard stance against Iran. A Gallup poll taken in February of 2018 notes, “Forty-five percent of Americans are satisfied with the position of the United States in the world, a 13-year high and a 13-percentage-point increase from one year ago, just after President Donald Trump took office. The public is also more likely than it was a year ago to think the U.S. rates favorably in the eyes of the rest of the world.” That’s a message that Republican candidates can push. As a friend of mine once said, “That dog will hunt.”

The third plank in this winning formula is the push for national security. President Trump has worked with Congress to increase defense spending, reverse the defense sequester, expand our military capacity, and modernize its capabilities. The military is far better off now than they were three years ago. Multiple polls show strong military support for the administration. The Trump administration withdrew from the U.N. Global Compact on Migration to reassert American sovereignty over our borders. A Gallup poll in July of this year notes, “Immigration has risen to the top of the list when Americans are asked to name the most important problem facing the nation — edging out the government, which has been the top issue each month since January 2017.” On the issues of national security and immigration, the GOP has the support of the people. Run on it.

A final plank that will lead to November success is to remind voters that the swamp of Washington D.C. must be drained. The president has made some strides in that. James Comey is no longer heading up the FBI. Andrew McCabe has been fired. Many swamp creatures are being ferreted out daily. The baseless Mueller probe, about which we’ve heard little lately, is being exposed for the fraud it is, but it is an arduous process. We are reminded of that with the debacle of the Kavanaugh hearing and subsequent investigation. The Democrats have demonstrated that they do not care about women. They leaked Dr. Christine Ford’s letter. They also do not care about truth and facts. Judge Kavanaugh is guilty in their eyes simply because he was accused. Regular people are fed up with this debacle. Remind voters of American values and principles.

That’s a four-plank platform by which, I think, Republicans can win in November. It is fact-based and verifiable. What do the Democrats and their media allies put forth to the American people? They hate President Trump and anyone who works for or supports him. They see those who voted for Trump as ignorant, racist people who must be opposed. They promise more destruction of good people.

Brook Singman, in a Fox News blog late in September of this year noted, “Democrats renewed threats to impeach Judge Brett Kavanaugh should he be confirmed to the high court.” Impeachment is a part of their platform. They have no economic plan to help Americans earn more money. They have no plan to create more jobs. They have no plan to create better trade deals. They have no plan to improve America’s standing in the world. They are committed only to hate, resistance, impeachment and corruption.

I believe the red wave can wash away the stain of corruption, destruction and hate that emanates from the Democrats. Our people must remember what’s at stake and come out in force. I believe we will.
