PIGSKIN PUNDIT’S WEEK 8 PICKS

Pete Rozelle’s dream of parity is coming to full fruition this season, thanks to errant kickers who can’t seal victories (or at least send it to OT), and a dearth of quarterbacks who can put two wins together. I was 10-5 last week, 9-5 this week, and 53-36 for the season. Here we go.

Dolphins at Texans – Miami is the worst 4-3 team in the league, and Houston is planning to show them that this week. Osweiler makes a nice, tall target, and when JJ turns the Watts up, Brock is going find that Clowney doesn’t and Mercilus is. Houston.

Eagles at Jaguars – Battle of the schizos here. Neither team can figure out who they are, which is inconceivable considering where each finished last season. Philly shows no signs of going back to the Superbowl, and Jacksonville shows no signs of going…. anywhere. Philly takes a road win, barely.

Broncos at Chiefs – The Chiefs are in charge, especially on their reservation. Tyreek is too high a Hill for the Mile Highers to get over. Orange gets Crushed.

Browns at Steelers – Cleveland is playing everyone tough, and the Steelers will have all they can handle at home. But handle it they will, barely.

Redskins at Giants – Washington Skins the Giants, as NY continues to play for the top draft pick.

Seahawks at Lions – Seattle flies into the Lions’ den this week. Matt the Patrician has a recipe for this, and will serve them up, roasted and stuffed.

Bucs at Bengals – This is another “Who are we?” game, as Cincy and Tampa seek to define their place in the NFL pantheon this season. Tiggers find their bounce again after KC drubbing.

Jets at Bears – Jets fly to O’Hare to get beat by the Bears.

Ravens at Panthers – Sounds like a Halloween classic, as Blackbirds battle Black cats. Flacco & Co score enough to escape with a win.

Colts at Raiders – ZZZzzzz….wha? Oh, this one. Dolts leave Black & Silver black and blue. Indy.

Niners at Cards – Another dreadful game to watch, as lottery teams play kick the can down the road. Cardinals by a beak.

Packers at Rams – The Pack gets smacked by the attack and sacks. Suh will probably tread on Rodgers’ other leg in this one. LA lays a beating on GB.

Saints at Vikings – REMATCH! This playoff game last year was the best one to watch, as Diggs grabbed that last chuck from Keenum and stepped around the DB to put the winning points up with no time. Same place, different result this time. Brees adds to his stratospheric stats.

Pats at Bills – The Patriots are banged up, but still finding ways to win. That will continue in Orchard Park, where the Bills are a team with no quarterback, running game or identity.

Enjoy the games! Go, Red Sox!!!
