Is Sports the remedy our divided nation so desperately needs?
Clay Travis, host of Outkick sure thinks so… and he makes a strong case to support his thinking in a Prager U video on the topic.
The question is, can the unifying power that sports offers to our nation survive the politicization it’s getting from the very people who are supposed to be reporting on it to the public?
At the very least, it’s been taking a serious hit.
The flag and anthem — the very unifying symbols that remind us all we are ultimately on the same team — has been turned into a point of contention.
And those who once turned to sports for a break for the grind of daily life have found that grind has bled into their diversion itself… and they’re tuning out.
Will we learn a lesson and leave sports as a politics-free zone?
It depends on whether those empty seats and cratered ratings will grab anyone’s attention.
But when Trump made it clear that the flag and anthem ought to be respected… a helluva lot of ordinary were glad he did.
