What is the ‘right’ sentence for a guy who commits a crime as gutless and wicked as this one… especially when a plea bargain takes the death penalty off the table?
Life in prison would have to be the best remaining option, right?
Sure… and he absolutely got that. He also got an extra little twist from the father of the woman Watts murdered, the grandfather of the murdered kids.
But Christopher Watts is the guy who strangled the life out of his pregnant wife and two young daughters and then tried to hide her corpse (together with the 15-week-gestation baby boy that was forced into the world as a result of the trauma) in a shallow grave, and them in crude oil tanks at his work.
His motive? His wife wanted to save their marriage even after his affair.
But he wanted to ‘chuck it all’ … for his mistress.
You may have seen the video of his little daughter singing a tender song about Watts: “My Daddy is a hero. He helps me grow up strong. He helps me snuggle, too”.

What kind of a person can bring himself to squeeze the life out of a little girl that adored him so much?
And for what… an exciting new lover? Hope he likes Prison sex — that’s the only kind he’ll be getting now.
The father of his dead wife had something to say about just what kind of a person Watts really is. Some called him a ‘monster’. Dad disagreed. That didn’t go quite far enough.
Here is an excerpt of his statement:
Life will never be the same without Shanann, Bella, Celeste and Nico. They had all their lives to live.
They were taken by a heartless one. This is the heartless one, the evil monster who dare take the lives of my daughter Shanann, Bella, Celeste and Nico.
I trusted you to take care of them, not kill them. They also trusted you.The heartless monster and then you take them out like trash. You disgust me.
They were loving and caring people.
You may have taken their bodies from me but you will never take the love they had from me. They loved us more than you will ever know because you don’t know what love is. If you did, you would not have killed them, you monster.
You thought you would get away with this. I don’t know how, the cameras don’t lie. You carried them out like trash out of the house. Yes, I seen the video tape.
You buried my daughter Shanann and Nico in a shallow grave and then you put Bella and Celeste in huge containers with crude oil, you heartless monster.
You have to live wit this vision every day of your life and I hope you see that every time you close your eyes at night. You have no heart or feeling or love.
Let me tell you something, I will think of them every day of my life.
Prison is too good for you. This is hard to say but may God have mercy on your soul.
I hope you enjoy your new life, it’s nothing like the one you had out here. May the courts have no mercy on you.

One other thing – Shanann says she is super excited for justice today.

He’s absolutely right.
This was an act of deliberate evil. He wanted to duck the responsibility of being a man and a father so that he could chase some other girl.
He’ll find the prison yard is not so easily dominated as his pregnant wife and defenseless daughters.
