Why shouldn’t it be? When it was a ‘hate crime’ by MAGA supporters it was rich fodder for the Media(D).
Now that the Jussie Smollett ‘hate crime’ has been revealed to be a hoax, the identity politics crowd are panicking and desperate to clean up the mess. Leading the charge is The Dumbest Man On Television™ — CNN’s Don Lemon.
First, he begins by saying that black, gay men (like him) were the biggest skeptics of the Smollett story.
Really? Then why didn’t they say anything about it? Especially when celebrities and prominent Democrats were flocking to condemn the attack as evidence of a deeply divided, racist, and homophobic America.
Lemon then looked into his crystal ball and determined that conservatives were going to be upset at being slandered as racists and homophobes. He then took on the usual tactic — when a leftist does something wrong, that’s not the real story. The actual story is how ‘Republicans pounce’ and latch onto the bad thing that the leftist did.
Don Lemon seems to think that Smollett isn’t responsible for his actions. He doesn’t believe that the real tragedy here is that the actor was attempting to smear Trump supporters as violent, racist homophobes simply because he doesn’t like the President, but that the horrible consequence of Smollett’s hoax is that he has ‘lost in the court of public opinion.‘
Lemon and his guests, Midwin Charles of Essence magazine, and Joey Jackson, a criminal defense attorney, discuss the problems in Smollett’s account of the events on January 29.
To their credit, Lemon and his guests all agree that Smollett’s actions diminish the victims of actual hate crimes, and he’s right about that. All attacks on a person for their identity is wrong and should be condemned. Unfortunately, there seems to be a ‘trend’ in hoax hate crimes, but that ‘trend’ doesn’t seem to be reported.
In the midst of the discussion, Lemon laments that Republicans are going to ‘pounce.’
LEMON: Sean Hannity is going to eat Jussie Smollett’s lunch every single second. Tucker Carlson is going to eat Jussie Smollett’s lunch every single second. The President of the United States is going to eat his lunch.

Smollett has been charged with a Class 4 Felony.
The charge of disorderly conduct is a Class 4 felony, the lowest felony classification, that carries a potential sentence of one to three years in prison. The act that triggers the disorderly conduct charge would simply be calling the police and allegedly filing a false report of being attacked. Smollett likely will go free on bond after a short hearing Thursday.
Smollett’s attorneys, Todd Pugh and Victor Henderson, released a statement Wednesday evening saying they would actively fight the charges.
“Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked,” the statement reads. “Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense.”

This is what happens when the politically correct Media(D) didn’t want to question the literally unbelievable story of a gay, black man for fear of being called racist or homophobic, and instead allowed all Trump supporters to be categorized with those same vile terms.
This is why we call them the Media(D).
