Even Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, is calling the border crisis an emergency. And there’s a tool in Trump’s Presidential toolkit he hasn’t used yet. Is it time?
As President, he has Article II authority to shut down the border entirely, and Mexico has been doing nothing to slow down or stop the smuggling of people over the border. Not only has Mexico not been helping slow it down or stop it, the Democrats are actively opposing any measures that would curtail illegal immigration. — They’ve reduced the cap of holding facilities and they refuse to address the perverse incentives that invite some poor Mexican families to rent out their own kids to smugglers.
Cuellar says that as he was speaking to Customs and Border Patrol agents he was also discovering a disturbing trend of adults “renting” children in Central America in order to increase their chances of being able to stay in the U.S. once they cross over.
“I was talking to somebody that worked for Border Patrol, and he said that in the late 80’s there were a lot of kids from El Salvador coming in and what they were doing is they had a ‘rent-a-kid’ program.” says Cuellar “In other words they said ‘oh if I come in and I have a kid with me they’ll let me go.” And the Border Agent told him “Henry, I’m seeing this again, I cannot believe it.”

One might easily conclude the Democrats WANT the levy to break and illegal immigrants from — wherever — to pour over our borders.
Democrats like to pretend they are ‘defending children’ but how can that be true if their policies are incentivizing criminals to deliberately endanger young children by using them as a distraction?

Obama’s own DHS Secretary is calling it an emergency.
Obama’s guy said any day with more than 1000 apprehensions would put a strain on the system, and would be (for him as the Director) a ‘bad’ day, putting him in a ‘bad mood’ for the entire day.

We’re at the Breaking Point… and then some.
Unvetted illegal entrants to the country are being released into the population by the thousands… because Democrat policies compel it, and they are uninterested in changing them. They do not want children detained, they do not want ‘families'(?) split up, they want a limit on how many can enter, they do not want a physical barrier to make entry more difficult, they do not want asylum seekers to be processed on foreign soil, and they refuse to change the law to make legal entry to the country a precondition for asylum hearings.
The system is being gamed and Democrats are profiting from it.
And the President is sick of it.
The DEMOCRATS have given us the weakest immigration laws anywhere in the World. Mexico has the strongest, & they make more than $100 Billion a year on the U.S. Therefore, CONGRESS MUST CHANGE OUR WEAK IMMIGRATION LAWS NOW, & Mexico must stop illegals from entering the U.S….

Trump realizes that the criminal cartels control the Mexican border, and make money from every thing and everyone one they smuggle over the border. Gangs are motivated to keep this going and can put pressure on the Mexican government maintain that cash cow.
That probably has something to do with that study demonstrating that 5 of the 6 cities with the highest per capita murder rate in the world are in Mexico.

But if the border itself closes, suddenly Mexico has to choose between keeping their criminal enterprises happy and keeping their legitimate economy running.
