Is It “Over” For The United States?

If there was a way to peer into the future and see if the United States survives the onslaught that is piling up against it, it would be worth almost any sort of price to pay.  My being elderly gives me something of an advantage in that I can look back, further back than ‘the younger generation(s)’ and see how we were when we saved the world, along with our allies.  Odd, but some of those same allies now despise us, wish us ill, and are doing their best to see that we fail somehow. I will not touch on any sort of “Russian collusion” because that is a farce — UNLESS you want to talk about the REAL ‘collusionists’, and that would be the Clintons.

Some TV reporters like to get out in the hinterlands and have a breakfast ‘with the people’ and talk to them to find out what is on their minds.  Recently, during one of these sessions, somebody says, ‘America is the source of most of the world’s ills: political, economic, and environmental.’  You take a sip of your coffee while you ask yourself, ‘Did he really just say that?’  We already know that America and her allies were responsible for saving the world in WW2, we sent troops to Korea to fight The Red Menace and to the jungles of Vietnam and the deserts of the Middle East… all to try to preserve liberty and justice for those peoples.  We send our best and brightest to fight other people’s wars.  So, how does that person come to make a statement like that?

Only one other country that I can think of offhand, has done so much for civilization in so many fields, as has the United States… Israel.  Yet, for all the cooperation between America and Israel, there are people in this country that wish to have nothing to do with Israel… which is a crying shame because they would have to do without many of the drugs that keep us healthy, many of the weapons that have been developed there, and which keep them, and us, safer. The world would be less joyful without the music from both of these countries and certainly we have produced some of the greatest minds ever!  America, and perhaps Israel as well, are not in the business of conquer and keep, as has been the custom down through the ages.  Japan and Germany are economic powerhouses, and we helped them get that way.

Perhaps the reason that Socialism is gaining in popularity among the young is that they don’t know anything about anything.  In 1973, Charles M. Pierce, a Harvard physicist speaking as an expert in public education at the 1973 International Education Seminar, said this… ‘Every child in America entering school at the age of five is mentally ill because he comes to school with certain allegiances to our founding fathers, toward our elected officials, toward his parents, toward a belief in a supernatural being, and toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity. It’s up to you as teachers to make all these sick children well by creating the international child of the future.’  Folks, you should go back and read that again, it’s THAT important.  Believing in America and the rules of law makes you mentally ill!  According to a McLaughlin poll following the recent State of the Union, 66 percent of 18-29 year olds, believe America is the source of most of the world’s ills: political, economic, and environmental.  Schools, which used to have teachers, are now indoctrination centers and they have one-sided instructors.  Over the years teaching changed.  Public schools decreasingly referenced God, and religion became an intellectual exercise forbidden in the public square.  In some schools the Pledge of Allegiance is not said, no form of what we used to call “Civics” is taught, and History is a taboo subject, especially American History!

Barack Obama revealed his ignorance of Natural Law and our founding documents when he opined, in 2001: ‘The Constitution says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.’  Count me among the disbelievers that he was ever a Constitutional professor, or even a student for that matter.  Americans, in large numbers, believe that issues like climate change and discrimination transcend individual rights.  That it is selfish to think only of your rights, and that global citizens must place humankind’s good before personal rights.  That smacks of the beginnings of a police state, I do believe.  In Congress right now are more bills trying to get made law, that will further encroach upon your rights as an individual, notably the “red flag” laws about gun control.

In 1918, Mary Parker Follett wrote, in The New State, ‘Citizenship is not to be learned in good government classes or current events courses or lessons in civics. It is to be acquired through those modes of living and acting which shall teach us how to grow the social consciousness. This should be the object of all day school education, of all night school education, of all our supervised recreation, of all our family life, of our club life, of our civic life.’

Parting shot: Be on guard, America, your freedoms are being taken little by little.
