Sadly, yet another ‘soft target’ gets hit by people with murderous intent. This time, in a Northern California Garlic Festival.
A six-year-old boy was one of three fatalities (so far) besides the shooter himself among those injured at this shooting. Reports put injuries at fifteen or so, including a 12-year-old girl.
Because of the shirt he was wearing, the slain little boy who was killed, Steven Romero, is being called ‘birthday dude’. Here he is:

The festival is considered a ‘gun free zone’, and attendees say they were searched thoroughly before entering the park.

It is believed a bolt cutter was used by the killer to cut through the fence and bypass the metal detector at security, and it’s also thought he had an accomplice.
The killer, described as ‘white, aged between 20 and 35 and wearing military fatigues’ was described as being very deliberate and systematic in his shooting spree.
One witness said he didn’t even speak or look side to side. When onlookers asked why he would do this, witnesses say he answered ‘Because I’m really angry,’ but did not say anything more about why he was so ‘angry’.

What were the reactions?
It didn’t take long for people to start ripping on the Second Amendment. Gun rights peeps pushed back, pointing out it was armed cops that stopped him and an unarmed population that ran helpless before him.
Another killing spree ends in another dead shooter. It makes you wonder how many of these are suicidals too gutless to take their own life, so they force the hand of authorities to do it for them.
Whatever his reason, we’re getting a little sick of the trend of losers seeking out soft targets, grabbing a gun and wreaking some mayhem.
It would have been nice to see someone with a carry permit drop this punk like the feral dog he is BEFORE he could get a shot off.
Maybe then we’d be having a conversation about the MERITS of gun ownership instead of the ‘horrors’ of it.
