CNN’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very BAD Week Courtesy Of Lemon, Cuomo, And Ryan

The slump in viewership isn’t the only problem that CNN has. Three of the big names have made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

CNN isn’t having a very good week.

This follows last week’s horrible moment when Robert Francis (Beto) O’Rourke appeared on Jake Tapper’s show and asserted that President Trump is “an open, avowed racist” and that Fox News perpetuates the so-called white supremacist ideology of Trump. Tapper didn’t challenge him on the incendiary claims that vilify the President of the United States and those that vote for him.

But that was last week.

This week has been worse — and the week isn’t even over.

First, it was the viral video of Chris Cuomo’s foul-mouthed rant at a rightwing troll on the weekend when the CNN primetime host was confronted while out with his family.

Watch the original video that was posted to YouTube:

CNN’s spokesman, Matt Dornic defended Cuomo saying that the name “Fredo” is an ethnic slur. (It isn’t.)

When you hear how aggressive Cuomo, The Second Dumbest Man On Television™, is in this video, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that he has come to the defense of Antifa.

If this had any host on Fox News it would have been a career-ending move. Not so with Cuomo.

The defense of Cuomo reacting to a mocking name with a call to fight and then a threat to throw someone down the stairs doesn’t exactly sound genuine when Cuomo had said that 16-year old Nick Sandmann shouldn’t have handled himself the way he did, you know, by smirking. Cuomo says that Sandmann shouldn’t have made the confrontation “into a standoff” despite video released by Sandmann’s lawyer that shows that the teen had displayed patience that would rival that of Job.

Then, it turns out, that Cuomo referred to himself as Fredo jokingly in a 2010 radio interview, and CNN has allowed “Fredo” to be used to mock Donald Trump Jr and others on their network — including by Ana Navarro on Chris Cuomo’s show — with nary a word from Cuomo about Navarro using what he considers the “N-word for Italians.” Strange.

The Daily Mail reports that CNN staff “are embarrassed” by the Cuomo video.

That was Tuesday.

Later Tuesday, a Twitter thread from a local reporter from New Brunswick, New Jersey started to gain steam. In it, the reporter, Charlie Kratovil claims that the bodyguard for CNN’s White House Correspondent, April Ryan, assaulted him and took his camera away at an even that Ryan was speaking at. The thread that had been posted on August 5 was getting more attention as he had added video and audio recordings of the alleged assault.

Kratovil appeared on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle on Wednesday evening.

Kratovil was covering a speech given by Ryan at the 4th annual New Jersey Parent Summit, which focuses on “educating, empowering and preparing parents for our future leaders,” on Aug. 3 at The Heldrich Hotel.

After roughly three hours covering the event “without incident,” Kratovil claims he was approached by Ryan’s security guard Joel Morris who demanded he stop recording, before grabbing the camera and walking out of the ballroom and into the hotel lobby.

As Kratovil and Morris begin causing a scene, Ryan explains to the crowd, “When I speak, I don’t have news covering my speech.”

Surveillance video was released showing the incident which was shown on The Ingraham Angle with guest host Jesse Watters.

Ryan has echoed the common refrain by many leftwing reporters (but I repeat myself) that the Trump administration is “dangerous” to press freedom. That’s probably her reason for having a bodyguard, I’ll bet.

Then, news broke that Don Lemon, The Dumbest Man On Television™, is being sued by a man who claims that the CNN host sexually assaulted him at a bar in the Hamptons.

Lemon, who is gay, is accused of some pretty disgusting behavior by a bartender who offered to buy him a drink.

According to the lawsuit filed over the weekend, the alleged incident took place at a Sag Harbor, N.Y., bar in July 2018. The plaintiff, Dustin Hice, claims he recognized the CNN Tonight With Don Lemon anchor and offered to buy him a drink called the Lemon Drop. The newsman declined, telling Hice he was “just trying to have a good time.”

The lawsuit claims that later on, Lemon approached Hice and his friends and “put his hand down the front of his own shorts” and “vigorously rubbed his genitalia.” He then removed his hand and put his fingers under Hice’s nose. According to the claim, while doing it, Lemon “repeatedly asked” Hice, “Do you like p***y or d**k?”

Hice, a bartender at another Hamptons establishment, alleged that Lemon acted with “aggression and hostility.” As a result, Hice said he was “shocked and humiliated” and ended up fleeing the bar.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for “emotional pain and suffering.”

Lemon has categorically denied the allegation.

Mediaite is reporting that Hice had said that he’d kill the lawsuit if Lemon paid him $1.5 million.

Does that mean that Hice is attempting to use the incident to shakedown Lemon? Does it mean that the incident didn’t happen? Who knows.

But it’s interesting that it’s an accusation against Lemon, who has been drunk on-air in the past. Who knows what he did if he had a few too many. Who knows if Lemon knows what he did if he had a few too many.

Don Lemon was an outspoken “believe survivors” of sexual assault during the Kavanaugh hearings. He spoke on air that he was sexually assaulted as a child.

Hice added in the suit that the “CNN Tonight” host is not a “staunch advocate for the ‘Me Too'” that he saw on television.

“When the cameras are turned off … Mr. Lemon’s actions are in stark and disturbing contrast to the public persona he attempts to convey,” the lawsuit reads.

Lemon said it himself that sometimes the public persona that is carefully cultivated isn’t indicative of who a person really is.

But these three have made it pretty clear publicly that they’re not exactly the nicest of folks.

The real issue here is that CNN doesn’t just tolerate it, but excuses their terrible behavior in front of the camera.
