The citizens of Hong Kong are already LIVING the ‘socialist dream’… which, honestly, is a total nightmare.
Ronald Reagan’s warning has fallen on deaf ears in light of today’s leftist activists, media, athletes, and other ‘influencers’.

Not only did they not LEARN that message, they are more than willing to throw that freedom away when it suits their broader agenda.
If free speech benefits their political rivals, they are happy to abandon their interest in the First Amendment — all ‘for the greater good’, of course.
If exercising those controversial American Rights gets in the way of doing business with China, the choice isn’t hard for them to make there, either: Profit before principle.
Even here in America, we’ve seen the reach of Chinese dictators crack the whip.
The Mariott Hotel fired an employee for ‘liking’ a tweet that was offensive to China.
Fans in who held up signs sympathetic to Hong Kong protesters were ejected from an NBA game — In Philadelphia!
What should leave us all scratching our heads is the fact that many of the same people who want to concentrate GREATER coercive power in the hands of an all-powerful government are ALSO regularly telling us about the inherent evil of law enforcement ranging from the local beat cop pulling someone over to ICE agents they also regularly portray as the personification of evil.
What happens in REAL life when a government is given power to censor speech that it does not agree with? You see incidents like this:

Men are pulled from their car by a crowd of armed cops for such heinous crimes as ‘playing a song supportive of the Hong Kong protesters’.
Meanwhile, here in America, we have journalists, celebrities, professors, and politicians all cheering the erosion of our Constitutional rights.
